A question
Why do all of you spend all of these big bucks on little helicopters? You spend about 3000 dollars on an awesome heli that is only about 3 feet long and doesn't do much?
No offense to ne one. |
A question
It doesn't do much?
Today, I had the opportunity to watch someone really fly a heli and so did the large crowed that stopped what they were doing to watch it. My personal thought is that planes are cool and difficult but you can only do loops so many times. A car goes around the track does some jumps and if you have a really nice street car you can do 70mph going straight. A small (30) heli will do all that a plane does and much much more and it can go somewhere around 60 mph The larger helis can go 85-90 mph. |

A question
im sorry i worded it so rudely but i am just wondering why someone would spend so much on something so little.
I already do fly a LMH heli and i don't understand y i would want to spend 1000 more dollars for another heli |
A question
The LMH can't do anything close to what a REAL 30-60 size heli can do, LMH heli's are not capable of piro flips, hovering inverted, rolls etc. When you get into a 200.00 plus heli it goes form a toy to a machine. Toy's are not a proper name for R/C aircraft, it's a sport not a plaything.

I just realized you are right. I'm going to go back and become a couch potato. NOT. I have a question for you. Have you ever seen a $1000 heli being put through its paces by a good pilot? I suspect not.

A question
that i have i went to this one competition and saw CURTIS fly his heli
I admit i thought it was really cool....................but i wouldn't wanna spend 3000 dollars to do that |
A question
So now the question is what would you spend $3000 on? The heli Hobby/sport is cheaper than golf, and waterskiing and is comparable to snow skiing. The $3000 figure you put out is on the high end. I know some who have gotten in for $1200 getting used but good equipment and that is complete radio heli and tools. To say it is not cheep is an understatement but when compared it to others endeavors it is reasonable.

ur right
|
A question
By the way you would have to spend well over $30,000 over 3 years and you still would never get to the level you saw curtis fly so I guess ur right

A question
Think of it this way
Trip to Colorado to ski PLane ticket : 300 Cheap Skis : 500 Clothing : 500 Lift ticket :75 hotel :200 food :200 Total :1775 Number of day on trip 2 My heli set up: 1500 Number of day 730 and still Flying. it seem expensive but prople will send a lot more money on stupider things. just my 2 cents. |
A question
According to me, it's first a question of passion. A lot of people in this field are passionnate about heli (or planes,...) and there is no explanation for a passion and it doesn't require sensible reason. If you like helicopters, trying more complicated tricks every "day", you're also like to get new helicopters, more power sure,...
People here, have this weird hobby and other spend there money in something else that is no less reasonnable, no more uninterested. Sometimes it's also only a personal challenge. In my case, that was it. I wanted to fly a heli since I was 7 years old and I'm starting only one, because I can assume and afford the expenses. No matter what it could cost, I want to master the manipulation, I want an interesting manual activity and lots of other reasons. It's just a point of view. Some people like to go to big meetings and for that, you need a "decent" (expensive) flying machine. It's an hobby and I prefer spending 2000USD, in my case, on a heli than staring at the TV when I come back home from the office and saving money for nomore fun. Moreover it's also a nice opportunity to be in a club, make other people's acquaintaince and to have other social relationship. I don't say, that's the only way, but it's one, neither the cheapest, nor the most expensive. You feel it or not. You would probably spend this big amount of money on something else. Have a nice day |
