Will this be a good setup?
 

I need some feedback on this setup:

Raptor 30 v2 tt39
rd8000 with (5)322Z servos
possible futaba gy401 with the digital servo

my main concern is will the airtronics radio work well with the futaba gyro, or any other non-airtronics equipment, will there be any incompatibility?

I'm not sure about the Airtronics tranny, but the rappy with a TT39 and a GY401 is a bloody brilliant 30 heli ! :)
The futaba gyro's are very simple to setup so I think you will have no problems with the Airtronics set.

It is supposed to be available in the UK end of May, was lookin at buyin 1 cheaper than 9C or 8103

First I want to make it clear that I am pretty new to this aircraft/heli radio. My previous r/c hobby is limited to cars and trucks. I use radio equipment from KO Propo, JR and Futaba. I still owned a vintage KO PROPO EX-II 2-ch AM radio which I purchased 14 years ago. I love this radio, relatively cheap but nicely built(Made in Japan!!) It has feather receiver(which is pretty small for 14 years ago), micro servos(which is almost the same size of todays micro sized one). nice electronics, good plastic and never out-of-date appearance.
I love the choice I made on my radio equipment so far, perhaps, maybe until now....

Today, I got my Rd8000. My first impression is, It is MADE in CHINA. well I have nothing against it. All of my R/C stuff are Japanese made which serve me well for so long. So I am holding my breath when i open the Box. The next thing I notice, the plastic quality is pretty bad. The transmitter is so cheaply made that it gives me afeeling of holding a GWS radio. The receiver is pretty big as compared to a Berg receiver(1 ch extra thou and its narrow dual conversion). I am a bit disappointed.

Its not what the appearance but the functionality that counts. However I am new to this aircraft/heli r/c so I dont have a indepth knowledge to comment on the Mixing function. The radio programming interface is easy to use and the arrangement is logical. However the manual is not very detail. Unless you have prior knowledge on various aircraft and heli technology, it will be hard to "learn" how to setup ur Pitch curve (flight mode) or aircraft mixing from the radio manual alone. (cf. elicpse manual tends to explain more)

Anyone here know what kind of transmission delay for this radio? the Elicpse claimed to be the fastest in the bunch for its renovated PCM-s circuitry.)

Personally I would like to see a comparison on the programming function between this Rd8000, Eclipse, and the jr 8103.

Besides the appearance, I believe there is nothing to lose to buy a 8-ch PCM/pPM radio for 300 bux.
