well...

I think its called a MH-10 or something. it looks to be very close to brand new with very little wear. only thing I see wrong with it is the tail body is missing the side fins and the stab...is there a way to get these parts. or is there another body available that will fit this chassis?

You are correct, it is a Hirobo MH-10, and it's well over 10 years old. It has a BK-117 fuselage on it. It's a .10-.15 size heli, and the engine is likely a CZ .15. Notice that the swashplate is under the maingear. You won't find new parts for these on any store shelves, but with luck, you might find someone with a small collection of parts they can't use. If you can't find a replacement part, you'll likely have to fabricate your own.

Oh, and about finding another body to fit the MH mechs? Don't count on it. You could recreate the missing stabilizer parts with balsa if necessary, just use the full-scale BK-117 as a guide. There are plenty of BK's in service around the world. Airliners.net has a good collection of pics. If you don't get it flying, just clean it up and hang it from your ceiling. If nothing else, it's a neat little heli to look at.

thanks

I will probably just make the tail fins out of plastic and pop myself out a balsa mold and vaccum form a canopy for it...the body is too fragile to even be used. but I want to fly it so...looking for a replacement engine. I could just order a new car type O.S CV 15 without a pullstarter, remove the head and drill and tap the top of the cylinder for the other bolt pattern ( same pattern just turned 45 deg) and use the head off of this engine...or??? any other ideas? I wonder if the same piston and sleeve are the same? guess I could contact O.S and ask them

kingcobraRCU 05-31-2003 09:30 PM

well

turns out the cylinder and piston is no longer in use in any engine that O.S makes...the porting is different for a heli engine than a plane or car. so...might have to go with the 15 CV and drill it out for the heli head...wish me luck...(of course I will probably have to use the carb off the old engine to get the heli style needle valve but its in good shape)

Best of luck to you. Also, keep an eye out on Ebay for a replacement engine. You never know what folks have hiding in their shops/garages.

Hi RCflyer 911,
how are you gettign with the MH-10?

I have a crashed and rebuilt one which is under powered by the cz 15 engine.

may i know if you have tried an alternative engine on it? any good?

mine is with 'normal' rc heli canopy. but i have changed some parts sicne i cannot get them after the crash.

thanks.

RE: well

A .15 car engine would do the job as is, Why not just machine the head on the new engine down to size? and leave the pull start on as it may be convienient.
