Flight stabilizer / co-pilot question
Hi,
I recently inquired about an auto-leveling stabilization system for FP heli's and was told of the "FMA Co-Pilot CPD4". Looks promising but I wanted to know if anyone knows if it (or something similar) can be used in a 4-channel fixed-pitch 'Exceed - Falcon 40' (very small heli) or one of its numerous clones. The helicopters specs are: Full Length: ~ 2 feet Full Width: 6.4 Inches Maximal Weight: 10 oz (without battery) Main Rotor: 20 Inches Tail Rotor: 6 Inches Power: 8.4V NI-MH Battery Thanks! |
RE: Flight stabilizer / co-pilot question
you would need the co-pilot2 for 4 channel heli

RE: Flight stabilizer / co-pilot question
Why wouldn't the cpd4 (co-pilot original) work? I thought the only drawback with that unit is that it wouldn't work with collective pitch, and the Falcon 40 is fixed pitch. The co-pilot 2 is for CP and can handle 6-channel inverted flight (which the cpd4 cannot), correct?
Also, if that's the case, wouldn't the FMA FS8 work as well on the Falcon 40? |
RE: Flight stabilizer / co-pilot question
I would suggest you contact FMA, they are the experts on their products. I used a CPD4 on an Art-Tech Falcon 3d and it worked fine, it had a 90 degree swash. I am waiting for a CP2 for my Trex which has a 120 degree swash.
