Helicopter Soaring

RE: Helicopter Soaring
That was interesting to watch but I highly doubt that you'll be able to "fly" a heli like that.

RE: Helicopter Soaring
You can... well some people can but i've seen it with the tail rotor servo still in...
I have not done it in real life but I have done it on the sim having the helo in throttle hold.... |

"R/C Anonymous. My name is Evan and I have not flown for 14 hours."
Love this tag line. Just tell me there is np 12 Step Program or cult following. |
RE: Helicopter Soaring
Which is a good thing though. Good luck with the quest! And thanks for the PM on youtube. |

RE: Helicopter Soaring
As Evan said, helicopters soar very well. Full size and models as long as the rotor is turning and the blades are providing lift. Called auto rotation. We practice it daily. Yep when Evan arrives at the field we all bow and kiss the ring. ( we love his C-Vett actually) he is a lot of fun to be around too.

Awww.... Thanks Jim. BTW the HK500 is ready to maiden tomorrow. I haven't had many of the issues (yet) that some others seem to have. What a deal for a $55 helo. $320 total into it including helo, motor, ESC, Batterys (2- 2200 30C 3S in series) gyro, servos (name brand), and reciever. Everything except transmitter. I used what was in the box, I have not bought or substituted anything. Tomorrow we see just how a $55 helo flies. I have it set up for 3D too.... |
