Just wondering,

I am going to buy a heli in the next few weeks or so. I think I will purchase the Thunder Tiger Raptor .30. This will be my first heli, and i was wondering if the TT .32 engine is sufficent for my needs. I really am not overly concerend with 3-d flying. What i am concerned with is reliability. I know a lot of people are opting for the os .32 in place of the TT. I found the TT heli for $359 at a local hobbie store, with the TT engine, and the 49 bearing upgrade. I dont care about burning up the skies, i Just want a solid machine to learn on. What do you guys (and girls) think.

I think you will love the rappy 30 .. I learned on one and I still fly it all the time .. I also have had an excell 60 ,Nexus .Kalt Baron and Kalt ZR and I have a raptor 60 and the difference is the price especially when you dump it in the ground ..I have never had a problem finding parts for the rappy .. All the others I have had a to search it seems for days sometimes to get a place with the right part in stock \and the price is usually alot more than the rappy ..I would get a OS 32 for it though .. I have used both in mine the TT36 and the OS32 . I like the ease of the OS better ..I never have to mess with the OS and the TT36 was tempromental.. Just be careful when you put it together .. Wher the instructions say loctite, LOCTITE .. Also I have found that if I have an inkling that this or that part isnt in the right order or the right part ..IT ISNT ! The rappy is very easy to work on and the parts fit really nice ..

TT engines are hit and miss. Some units
rock and other times they su*k.

The OS isn't as powerful but it IS more
reliable and less fussy.

Ive got the TT36 in mine with the weston pipe and it puts the OS's to shame, BUT, your not guarentee'd to be so lucky, if your just looking for casual flying and want a guarentee on a good motor get the OS, the TT is a luck basis!

Thanks for the advice,

I bought the Raptor without the TT .36, and bought the os instead. I think i will be happy with the reliability of the os, id rather take a small hit in the performance catagory and have a engine I dont have to always tune.
