looking for a sim.
I was originaly just going to get the Phoenixsimulator, but I run mac, and was wondering if this sim is any good,<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; ">AeroFly Pro Deluxe
I will be using a DX7 I know Phoenix says you can use it on a Mac, but that is Via a virtual machine, which sucks. I have an old PC I may fire up just for the sim, but would like the ability to run it on a mac. Are there any other sims that are good, and work on Mac.<br type="_moz" /> </span> |
RE: looking for a sim.
I am looking for a sim that runs on a Mac as well. Thanks for the link. I run Real Flight on an older PC now, but would like to use my Mac as well.
Thanks. |
RE: looking for a sim.
Both of you should look here - http://www.phoenix-sim.com/support.htm
scroll down about one third and you'll see this Can I use Phoenix on my Apple Macintosh® computer? Yes, if you have an Intel-based Apple Mac* machine then Phoenix will function extremely well under Windows XP, Vista or Winsows 7 running on one of the following systems: - Bootcamp (recommended) - Parallels (latest version) - VMWare Fusion (latest version) * If you are unsure whether your Mac is Intel-based, you can find out here. Personally I don't use a MAC (yuck) but there are many people discussing running under bootcamp on various other forums with excellent results. |
RE: looking for a sim.
Bootcamp is a bit of a pain, and both Parallels and VMWare are a virtual machine and slow the computer down ALLOT.<div>

RE: looking for a sim.
After several PC's I moved up into the better world of MAC. However, I too wondered about running Phoenix. I local MAC guru install Windows for me so now I can switch back and forth between MAC and windows. Phoenix is fantastic and worth the trouble to be able to use it. However, that is all I use Windows for, as using the MAC in some much better for all else.

RE: looking for a sim.
I think that is the way I will go. It was what I had decided, but then I saw the add for AeroFly. At the moment I am installing Windows XP with Bootcamp so I can boot in windows and run Pheonix, probably the same as you did.
