RE: Muffler bearings problem, please help!!!
Man oh Man, all this talk about muffler bearings and the like.. My problem is much worse. My repair guy keeps saying that I can have my plane back when he gets a round tuit. I have looked high and low and I can't find a source for round tuit's anywhere.

First day of Grade 6 (what a memory, eh?) the teacher (who, parenthetically, tried to be cool and called us "Dudes" and "Dudesses") had us sit down and cut a circle out of coloured construction paper. Then he had us draw on it in big letters T U I T. Guy thought he was pretty funny.

Yeah but I heard that, the fumunda lube is kinda sticky, actually really stinky depending on what brand and who you get it form. And that it's almost impossible to wash of the hand's. But now the valves in the 2 stroke are shot, and need a set of valves for them if I ever want to run it again[:@]. man this hobby is awesome, but trying to find valves for a 2 stroke at this time of year is really hard.

That made my eyes water, and it's not the fumunda smell

If your really lucky you may install them on one of those fancy nitro engines that blow raw fuel out the front bearing. This helps lubricate the bearing and washes down the propeller at the same time. It also usually provides enough incoming air to keep the engine running even if the throttle barrel is full closed. This allow you to idle on the ground without any chance of getting debris in you engine.

I asked the guy at the local hobby store for a couple of bottles of high performance engine bubblegum and the guy actually brought me a bottle of lube plus a strip of Doublemint!

If your muffler bearings are so troublesome, why not go electric? I hear a Wankle rotary engine is a good substitute fo a .40, but it drains your batt real fast. To combat this, just use an aluminum magnet to get any and all metal filings out of your engine, as they have been known to cause serious friction. If you don't like that idea, a big linear induction motor may be a good option, or you could try steam power. Hell, I saw a guy once who converted 35" Yak 55 to run off gerbil power, but it crashed when its exercise-wheel capacitors blew and the interference caused his DX 7 to start glitching and eventually the plane crashed. No word on the gerbils.

Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but I seem to have a problem. After several flights today I found my plane extremely sensitive to control. I found on inspection the plane had become rather tail heavy due to an accumulation of propeller pitch all over the tail planes. I tried my usual plane cleaner on it but it wouldn't come off. Does anyone have a good cleaner for this stuff?

Buy some elbow grease to lubricate the pitch...and then rub it down with prop wash!
If it's particularly stubborn, you can start with headlight fluid to start it off.

Muffler bearings are easy to find! So are retroencabulators (though they are hard to keep inside of the malleable logarithmic casing). The thing that keeps killing me is that I don't have any high-compression floor mats. That keeps making me blow my muffler bearings and breaks my malleable casing! I guess a square tuit would be a decent alternative, but it'd be more of a band-aid fix than an actual solution.

I believe I also may have found a good online vendor for it as well: http://unbelievablerc.com/detail.php?pid=11
If this doesn't do the trick, it probably would be a good idea to just take off the tail and fly without it, we all know they are just for looks.

Are you guys using sealed or shielded bearings? I have some dark residue coming from my muffler. Is this due to muffler bearing failure?

It's not quite failure yet, but if you don't replace them soon you'll have problems with the rest of your imaginary components!!
