Local model shop
True story here:
I go into the local shop wanting some engine bearers Do you have any 1/2 inch by 1/4? No How about 1/2 in by 3/8? No 1/2 in by 5/16? No What sizes do you have? Here is a list - why don't you look at that But you do have 1/4 in by 1/2 Yes That's the same as 1/2 in by 1/4 No it isn't lets not argue, I'll have two lenghts of that Sorry, we are out of stock And the assistant was........... a woman |
"Hey! That was sexist!"
|
Why is this funny? And regardless of the assistant being a woman you are the one who thinks a 1/2 in by 1.4 in bearing is the same as a 1/4 in by 1/2 in.

I remember as a young draftsman having to change a pile of drawings from 1/8" x 4" to 4" x 1/8" seemed like a waste of time to me.

RG, look and see where the OP is from. He is talking about an engine bearer, or as we know it, motor mount. He was looking for hardwood engine mount 1/2 X 1/4 in. Which is the same as 1/4 X 1/2 if you turn them around.
