Default Force One DF

Anybody ever thought of putting a Turbax I on a Balsa USA Force One? Sort of a smaller version of the "ByroBlasted" Enforcer. Any ideas?

Default Yes indeed

Actually, there is a guy who has done this and he has a website showing it. Now, if I could just remember the URL! :spinnyeye

Default Force One DF

i have a byro-enforcer and a guy at the feild has a prop force one.
I whould say the reason no one has convered this to df is that it is quite a small plane. just putting in retracts would be tight.
in fact i trully think the enforcer would fly more "d/f" like with a 45df unit. as most df jets wish the had that performance envelope with a byron fan( on an enforcer)

just my 2 cents

Default Conversion

There is a guy doing conversions out there and hopefully he sees this thread. It would be great if he could share his Force One's performance with us? I also believe his Force One does not have retracts.
I have a Byro Enforcer as well and I don't think I would go any smaller than a .65 on it. I have a .77 on mine and I just finished building one for a friend andit has a .91.
It might be ok but I don't think the .45 would be big enough for the Enforcer...?
The Force One I saw has the power setup just like you would expect between the tail feathers but there is no ducting so the engine/fan/pipe sit right on top in the open. Easy maintenance 'eh?

Oh, I think the guy said he was going to start selling the conversion package for this I could be wrong though!

Now....if I could just find that URL!

Now that I've calmed down I'll contact the designer and get some more info . Once this is started I'll post the results.

well my enforcer at 7.5lbs would fly well on a 45, as the turbax says it will fly a model up to 11lbs. and having built a A-7 corsair from jhh @8lbs and gettin it to fly from a 260' runway with maybe half the wing span/area im sure it would work.....
but if thr force-one has been converted cool..........
the irony is balsa usa's planes seem to have more life as d/f conversions nowadays.
and what's a jet with out retacts.. i would have to try those minatures in the f1

No, but one will soon be on order!!! You'll be "Byro Blastin' " and I'll be "Turbaxin' " ( I know it sounds corny, but it's still cool ). I think a small set of mechanical retracts just might be able to fit inside. And you're right about easy access! . Once I get the kit I'll keep you posted. I contacted the person who did the prototype. Wating for the article to be published. What are you building/flying now? I'm working on my Regal Eagle.

Default Flying

Sounds great buddy! Well, I think I have put 3 gallons of fuel through the Shuttle now! I have it down to science now! Still haven't autorotated yet but I'm sure I'll have to learn someday! :spinnyeye
I finally have my Sport Shark running like a charm! I've been flying that like crazy lately when the weather permits!
Keep us posted on the outcome of the "Turbaxer"
I'm sure a person could put some retracts in there
Just getting the engine ready for the Barracuda as well. Not really sure about that plane because it was my first attempt at build a DF and some of my "building" techniques are to be desired!
Oh, and I finished my buddies Enforcer that we will take out this weekend cause I still haven't repaired mine from when it fell off it's hanger on the ceiling
