Default Classic Jets Fri and forecast

Hiya.

Every classic jets meet I have been to has been good weather... with the forecast looking abit moody, what happens if its raining? Do most people still go and hope for a break in the weather?

Who is in, rain or shine?

The majority go, the weather could be OK!
The M&R crew certainly always go...

Never loose the opportunity of a day off because it might rain!! Besides Dave did say he had booked the weather, so unless he's account is on stop, we should be fine

What ever happens, the rain won't spoil the Little Thief Olympic Breakfast

Just had a quick scan of the weather sites. It's looking better than it's looked all week. A bit of 16mph down the runway sunny goodness for the morning at least. Looks like Chairman Daves hocus pocus might be starting to work

I'm in!

P.S. Thats runway 18 Dick

Looks like wet all morning clearing by about 4.00pm so a couple of hours to get a flight in.

I wonder how many will make the trip.

Hey, think positive chaps...it's going to be a good day...remember, in any case, all the best flights are always done in the car going home, or in the tent whilst waiting for the damp to go away!

Anyway, if it rains and the Jet Meet becomes a Wet Meet...we'll have a bloody good feed whatever...I've just picked up 150 1/4 pounder burgers and 350 slices of thick cut bacon...theres a mountain of Rock buns staring at me from the kitchen, boxes of crisps, etc...we ain't going to starve! (I'll put in an extra doggy bag for you Geoff, and a hot flask...that long-distance trip you make must be a killer...you'll need sustinence, just in case it snows on the way home and you get stranded!).

Thanks Colin...the pit position is normally a 'cttee' (read that as Geoff, Trev, Selwyn, Aldridge and me) decision on the morning...sometimes the wind plays tricks...!

Hang loose, see you tomorrow!

Cheers,

Dick (just off out to deliver gas and water!)

PS...the confusion seems to linger over 'whose' event this is...as Dave mentioned Classic Jets is not a JMA event. I do, though, rely heavily on Dave's influence on the weather!

Don't worry Dick, we know it's your meeting. It was just a joke regarding one of Dave's earlier posts

Cheers Duncan, I'd latched on to that but thought I'd use the opportinity to mention it 'cos people still think JMA membership is a pre-requisite to coming to CJ...which it isn't!

Rgds,

Dick

Looking forward to it, couldn't possibly be worse than flying at the Nats this year! (or could it?)

Yep, damp day, but actually better than I expected, one flight with the P-20 Cougar (too much water getting sucked through the U/C holes!) and five flights on the new Ultra Flash had me content. Other nutters were Adam Birmingham with his Avonds F-15 and Mark Tilbo with his Art Tech range of EDF's, plus Colin Straus doing more testing on Ripmax's ARF Hunter.

A lot of work goes into these events by Dick and his crew, its a pity when the weather fails to deliver. Its still a great social event and food flows all day-more could have flown if they had "man'd" up a little.

Very happy to test fly the Ultra Flash on a runway, it can now go to our grass site
