Was having the same problem. Make sure your steering cables aren't too tight. It needs just a bit of slop and the nose gear will lock down everytime. Also make sure the retract sits flat on the rails if it rocks it will bind when the screws are tightened down.
Thanks for all of your input, I have the spring air gear that was origionally sent and I thought that I had the steering cables loose enough.  No problems locking down when sitting inverted.  I changed the retract unit now to another that was on my Kangaroo origionally.  It has a stronger spring and a different lock down bar.  I also made sure that the steering cables are looser now as well.  Will see how it works next weekend, but if I can't get it to stay down, then I guess I'll have to switch to fully pneumatic retracts.

I had both versions of the Rookie but never setup the canards for braking.  Now, wish I had.  I have a buddy that does that and it does make a big difference.  Loved the canards for flying though.

If you put a restrictor in the line (to slow down the gear) in the wrong spot that will also cause the nose gear not to lock down

Are the plastic wheel wells a must???

My retracts fit nice but I will have to cut a lot to make tha pastick wells work.

How many left them off????

Wow your right it used to be in the downloads section. You just cut the wheel well covers to where you only have the part that covers the tire itself IE just make them perfectly round and remove the strut section. I'd take a pic of mine but I'm out of town for a few weeks

No, it goes in one piece by the sliding door. Front passenger seat forward, then fish it in nose to rear. Just got to be carefull getting the stabs in. Wings fit easily in the width by the sliding side doors. Piece of cake

Got 3 flights in today before my ECU pack got low. These Kingtech's do not like a low battery! So I will need to purchase 2 more for back up! LMAO!!

I had a great maiden and a great 3 flights total! She is a beautiful flying plane.....so gentle and so docile landing.

Oh by the way, NO WHEEL WELLS!!!! and she is fine!!! Stock landing blocks...AND SHE IS FINE!!!!!!

Thanks to Henry and his guidance and all of my turbine brothers on this page, thanks for all the guidance and feedback on my build. It was an honor today in my flying career. Ive been flying since I was 9 and this was the tops!

Thanks to everyone for all the help!

Great flying Dblex what airport was that Robstown? Get yourself a leaf blower to help cool the turbine after shutdown that way you don't use so much battery on cool down. That will help a little bit. You should make the short drive down to McAllen sometime so we can do some flying.
