Did you get an instruction book with this plane. The one for download on the various websites is very old. If you got one are you able to PDF it and upload it here. I should have my plane in a couple of weeks
Regards
Dennis

RE: The Aermacchi MB339 is here agian
I just got my MB339 a few days ago and will be installing a P80 in the jet. I am concerned that the supplied fuel cell is not big enough to handle flights longer than 5 min with this turbine.
Any suggestions on who makes a larger fuel cell for this jet?
Would really appreciate the help!!!

Hi

That is a big tank and should be plenty for a P80 if you use throttle management you should easily get 6 + Mins

My 339 is on its way. Going to do a custom scheme...powerplant will be evoJet XXX. I plan on constructing wip tanks, as well as main and nose doors. Ventral fins are on the list too...
Should be a good project.
Can anyone comment on the landing gear being sold for this bird, quaility?
Thanks!

RE: The Aermacchi MB339 is here agian
I just started to build mine now, this is an early production kit, late December 2010. The instructions are a little weak, I don't need a lot info but some critical stuff is missing, for example how and where to mount the pipe??? anyone who has proper info that would be great.
The mounting plate rails for the front gear were not glued, there was glue but it missed the rails that go from former to former, the gear block was only glued on one side. If you have one of these kits I would strongly suggest that you check this area. I replaced the gear block and the 2 rails that go from former to former with better wood and hysol'd them in place. (these rails were pulled out by hand without any damge to the plane)
The troybuilt site states HS5645 servos for the elevator....not even with a shoe horn will these fit, you need a mini servo to fit , 15mm thick is tight, JR3421 or Futaba 3102 I believe, both rated at +/- 64oz
I have installed Model Avaition Products gear in it and Behotec struts, these fit nicely. the only thing for the front is to mill down the mounting tabs a little as they are a tad wide. the front grear is direct drive with a push rod so no wires:-)
Ill try and post some pictures of what I have done soon
