I'm 33. Been flying jets for 3 years and RC planes for 6. I was primarily flying IMAC/3D before jets.
Rex - I can relate to your son's perspective on 3D. I keep the 3D planes and helis around to keep my reflexes up.

Turning 40 in a couple of months (May), I have been flying RC since 1996, got my first DF in 1999, my first turbine in 2001. Love this hobby immensely and cannot imagine life without it. Have made fantastic friends in the past 15 years and a lot on RCU too. This hobby for me is not only about flying, its about the camaraderie that comes with it.

43 , been flying r/c since 1979 , first ducted fan in 1985 , first turbine bought in 1998 Sophia J-850, started flying full size in 1988 , UAV RPV Test Pilot and instructor since 1995....I guess flying in all aspects is my life....pretty narrow minded

Wow, 582 votes....gotta be some sort of record. Once again, I'm encouraged by the large numbers in the 30 to 50 range as well as the many "old farts". Thanks for voting and your comments.
Up next.....level of education and income bracket.

I guess the classic gaussian distribution curve has been pushed in the direction of the old farts due to disposable income
It would be interesting to see a similar poll for 3D heli guys.

Turned 47 in January
Started flying RC in 1977, trainers to Giant scale and a little heli time as well. Sold most of it to get into jets as in ducted fan in 1992, the last twelve years in turbines. Now my 7 and 12 year old both fly (not jets yet) they need about a 1200 mile paper route for that.

Well I've just turned 65 (he,he, government can now help fund my hobby) started flying model airplanes around the 1980's, got my first turbine boomer about four years ago, thought, gotta try this out, your a long time dead, now I just love turbines and jet models, it's really soured prop models
