Default JMA AGM / Shawbury Jet Meet

Who's going?

Are there likely to be any special offers at the mini trade show? There were quite a few last year but I've heard nothing this time round.

As always time is tight so I'm trying to decide whether to try to get to the AGM on Saturday or just the flying on Sunday.

Darren

We will have plenty of stock, special deals on some radio items like servos, plenty of new items to be seen.
If anyone knows of specific items required, please email to ensure we bring enough of them-I have quite a list already. Possibly two Ultra Flash kits!

Boomerang Jets will be there with some bargains on our kits as well as undercarriage and accessories to kick off the flying season.

We have some extremely special deals on the XL, a couple of slightly transit weary Sprints at exciting prices and possibly a very special deal on a Torus kit. We will also be bringing Nano kits with us with some added extras.

If you have any spares enquiries please contact me before the AGM and we will bring with us.

Please note the offers we are doing for this show are very unlikely to be repeated and are only available for pre order before the AGM and collection there or for purchase at the AGM. Any specials will not be continued after the meeting !

We will also have undercarriage sets available.

Any enquiries please feel free to email me for details on [email protected] If you are after a kit it would be wise to let me know so we make sure we keep your chosen kit / scheme for you.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

Colin

Please remember to bring proof of insurance if rejoining JMA or intending to fly at RAF Shawbury.
Also clocks go forward so it will be an early start for some of you on Sunday morning.

Bring plenty of money and support the trade show !

What a superb day! Possibly the best JMA Jet meet that I have ever been to. ( Especially the last hour or so) Thanks Frank and the rest of the Shawbury club for use of your lovely facilities.. Thanks to my guys, once again for all their help and laughs along the way!
I am just uploading some pics to Photo Bucket, and will put a few on line. I have to say that I dont have that many, as I was a bit busy with the flying and banter today to pic the camera up too often.
My lasting memory of the day was watching in awe, as a MW44 powered Snot Cat annihilated a Ultra Lightning is a straight and level pass!
Regards Al

Early one of the pit area filing up. I would guess that this was about half full compared to what we saw by about midday.

As you say Ali, a great days flying.

My most prominent memory was that 44 powered snot cat outrunning a bobcat with a Merlin 90 in it where the pilot had the throttle pegged open for the whole flight

Yep it was indeed a great day, loads of flying by everyone. The sun even came out in the afternoon, which made flying even more enjoyable

LOL Geoff that's just wishful thinking on your part, not wanting to be the only guy to be shown up by a bit of snot

Another pit lane shot.. This must have been early as it looks cold, and as the day went on the weather got better and better. You can just see the "model of the meeting" in the background. Geoff White's Airworld Hunter. An impressive plane in its own right, but when finished as well as this one, and flown so superbly, its hard to find words to words to sum it up. Top job Geoff! It was only fair that Painters Snot Cat spanked your ***** later in the day I am sure others will have some better shots of Geoff's Hunter, but to do it full justice, you really need to see it fly in person.

Geoff,
Admittedly the Bobcat did not out pace the Snot Cat as I would have hoped, but it definitely had a slight margin over the 44 powered ( Fixed gear ) speed demon! [8D]

Credit where credit is due.. I say it as I see it, and that second hunter flight was about as good as it gets in my eyes!

Ah, don't try and mask your love for my Foxjet Al ! I will admit though that it does look as if Aldridge would rather have been elsewhere!!!

Cheers,

Dick

Andy always looks like that. Enough to spoil milk at 1000 yards.

I had a good time, very happy and friendly atmosphere, lots of banter, anecdotes and funny stories.
It was great to talk to people I haven't seen in months.

Thanks to Frank & Co @ RAF Shawbury for arranging this event.

Matt Bishop pushing back his dads new 1/4 Scale Airworld Hawk. P-200 powered and over 20 Kg so they have to pass through the UK's large model scheme. I have to admit to being dubious about their decision to sell their existing hawks, and build two of the new larger kits, but after seeing them start to get dialled in, I have to admit to being really pleased they did.

My first AGM meet and very enjoyable. Banter of a very high calibre. Have to agree with Ali (though without his credibility) that big Geoff 'stole the show' with his amazing display of his Hunter. Geoff is humble about his flying skills but he is up there with the best in my opinion. Hoping to make Scampton!

What a great weekend, which can only be put down to good company. The AGM its self is always a refreshing change to the normal club political issues!
I must say that Martin Painters SNOT CAT really has Street Cred, and always manages to impress with its turn of speed! It was a shame that it all had to stop so soon, and yes Geoff, your Hunter along with your flying skills, was a pleasure to see!
A big thank you to everybody who organised such a great event, as Ali quoted “The best AGM meet so far”.
