OMG...you had to drop the F Bomb!

Call it "The Original Surrender Jet". The Caravelle was the first airliner certified for autoland operations. Seriously...it was.

Of course, it was necessary because the pilots typically flew with their hands up most of the time! LOL!!!

Guys stop with the French bashing. Although i have heard a true french flag has the red and blue only velcro'd on for quick removal to reveal a white flag

Ha Ha ha... Very funny...[:'(]

But put a french man in a hotel and see if he doin't goes to close combat !

The Caravelle is a really wonderful plane. My father and I built one nearly 20 years ago at scale near 1/12. This make 3 meters span and 2.50 meters long. She has no engine and fly as a glider since all those years flawless with only 6.5kg fly weight ! This is really a magic plane in flight. She is a really good glider.

We also built an other one Caravelle with only 1.30 meters span and twin GWS EDF engines, retracting gears, and flaps ! Still flying wonderful and really good looking.

A guy here in France had built a big scale Caravelle around 8 years ago. 5 meters span with twin P120 engines by memory. This was a marvel in flight.

Here in France the Caravelle is a big part of our aviation history like the P51 Mustang or Boeing 707 or 747 in USA.

The 27 is a sweet plane,
But I guess when I lived in Spain in 1967-70 I use to drive by the Libera airport every morning and see the Caravelle taking off all the time One summer when they were filming the Battle of Britain movie ( could be wrong about that name )
There were at least 100 world war ii aircraft parked on the ramp for the movie, It was awesome, and when I would get to the base, Torrejon AFB , early morning, there were 6 F-100 taking off two x two, full AB , The only base I saw my first B-58 Hustler taking off,,,, SWEEEEEEEEEEET

Anyway I love the lines on the Caravell

They filmed Patton over there. I didnt know you were stationed at Torrejon. I have family in Alcalá. Iberia flew those out of Barajas.
My parents got to see the TBirds F-100's go supersonic at TJ. Great times for airshows I guess!

Yes , my dad was with the 98th out of Travis and when they lost the B-52 and the KC-135 Re-fueling and lost the A-bomb, that was part of my Father's squad, He came home and said in 67, were moving to Spain, and all us kids cried like a baby
He flew KC-135's
Cried when we left Travis,,,,,,,,,,Cried when we left Spain,,,,,,, Kids, God knows I love them
I never saw so many WWii aircraft in one place in my life,,,,,, it was pretty sweet
Good lord I just found this

That Finnair Super Caravelle surely brings up chilhood memories. It was the plane with the funny Vic pastille shaped windows.
The aircraft could also glide well...

Same here, no money for a corporate, so stick to simulator version.
