So.. who is actually making YF-22 or F-22 kits these days? Seems like that's an airplane that isn't getting much attention but should be a VERY nice flying airplane.

Try Christen Diffusion's web site: www.christen.diffusion.online.fr They make an all composite one or one with obechi sheeted foam wings. I helped build one and they build and fly great

Unfortunately the web site is all French. If you email Didier he can get someone to translate it for you and answer your questions. I built one with only the French instruction manual. Fortunately, the pictures were in English.

I have one on order. Should arrive in June from France. A fellow modeller who lives in Quebec is in the process of translating some of the instructions. I will keep you posted.

It IS a very nice flying airplane, and a large one in 1/6th scale or a small one 60" long for a P-20 would be perfect.

I have a Christen Diffusion F22. Really nice model, flies well on a JetCat P120. Only has two moving surfaces (the tailerons), so nice and simple too. Pretty fast, but can also be slowed up nicely for high alpha passes and slow landings. Didier is a really helpful guy, and fortunately his English is very good, as my French is rubbish! This is a great model - no hesitation in recommending it.

Feel free to contact Didier. I'll help him for English if necessary.

I have the Yellow F22 (not technically a YF22 - not sure if that matters to you?)

Great kit, excellent gear/pipe/bypass/instructions. Would build another one in a minute.

Built light too. Mine flies on a Titan SE and the fuel tanks are plenty big for a 180 if you want.

Been flying mine since 2008 and it requires lower maintenance than most of my other jets.
Easy to fly and fun to bank 90 and pull, it just keeps coming.

Would be happy to discuss or answer questions if I can help.

Ditto. The YA is second to none. The plane flies great, little to no maintenance and is my new "go to" jet. I've seen the competition and they dont even come close to the quality of the Yellow kit.

I've had to replace the nose tire but the mains are holding up well. The gear are without doubt the strongest and nicest I have ever seen on a model. You could drop your truck on them and not hurt them.

Ditto that, I saw one at RT66 and the quality is awsome. OMG the fuel tanks are HUGE to! How much fuel does it hold like 400 oz?

The main tires do wear more than other types but not too bad. I am on my first set of tires still at around 30-35 flights.

The nose wheel clearly wears faster (as mentioned here)

SOme have changed the tire type but I like the foam and replace them as need, it gives the plane nice handling on the ground.

You do want to make sure you glue the faom wheels to the rims though...just to make sure they dont come off with lateral loading etc.

I dont know the volume of fuel but I start my Titan SE, taxi and then FLY 9-10 minutes and land with between 1/4-1/3 in the main tanks.

The gear are awesome, especially the main gear. There is a threa dhere somewhere under a search of somethign like "cg hinges..." I will try to locate it.

Charles and Shaun were great to work with. I needed a few things and got them all on the day he said they would arrive. A+.

Dave
