Default Avonds F-16

Can someone tell me what brand and or part number air cylinder fits the nose gear door on an Avonds F-16? I've tried the BVM #5751 and 5752 and neither one is the right one.

It actually doesn't look like a BVM cylinder unless its an older style. The end has a swivel brass ball that connects to the door. I'll try to post a pic of the bad one.

Eaglepilot2,

I just went onto avonds web page and it shows that the nose door cylinder is a custom BVM air cylinder. Maybe you can call Dustin at BVM and ask him if they have one.

Here's a picture of the door cylinder package straight off of the avonds web page.

Hi Tom, He certainly is, I've talked with him numerous times. I was just hoping I could get one a little closer than Belgium! Plus the freight would be a little more than usual! If I have to I certainly will. Thanks again.

On an F-16 you should be able to use any size cylinder for the door. Just play with the location of the cylinder and the location of the bracket on the door.

I've had most brands of F-16 and I typically use whatever cylinders I find on my bin.

Hi, the NLG door cilinder IS a standart BVM item but is custom adjusted so no stock cilinder will fit. The piston rod has been shortend by I think 6mm or so, match with an existing one if you have, the plastic end is glued in.

Rgds,
Gerald
