Default Fei Bao F9F Panther

Hello

I just took delivery of my new Fei Bao Panther and I have to say I am very pleased. Both with the plane and the excellent service I received from the UK agent/Importer Martin Little.

The quality of the build and finish is excellent and for the all in price of Just over £1950 you get everythingwith much of the installation work done for you.

These new models are made from the lighterweight glass construction and have a very neat fixing method for the control surfaces. I didn't have much time to unpack it neatly so here are a few pics asa taster. Like most photos they donot do the plane justice

Thanks Martin and Fei bao

Only one small disappointment. I searched the box well and the lady in the pic was not in there. I thought that she was included

This is a Fei Bao F9F from Global Jet Club, it is a little hard to see when it is cloudy but a blast to fly.

Yes I think it will operate very well off of grass and Martins website is http://acejets.co.uk/

Martin buys the kits in and offten has planes in stock so you can go and look at them before you comit to buy. He also checks them all over and even does an air test on the retracts. All his models come in the RTF format as they call it with the gear doors and rams etc installed as well as the undercarriage installed(on most models ). They are painted outside the mould and he also has some weathering put on them. Martin is a very nice guy to deal with and I found him to be very genunine. He opened all the packing and I was with him for over 2 hours looking at the model and talking about it.

In my view Fei bao is a company that rather hides its light under a bushal so to speak and looking at the quality of this kit they are up there with the best.

The nicest thing is the price is the price with everything included, there are no add ons it is all included as it should be in my opinion

I will fully unpack the plane tonight/over the weekend and take pics of all the parts so that all who are interested can have a better look.

This is the new version with several improvements made over the original

Has it got the rivet detail as I remember when looking at them before there were two versions one with lots and one without, think probably the one without was the old range of kits

Yes indeed this is the one with the rivit detail and some weathering. It has the lighter fiberglass construction and is 2 lbs lighter than the original it also has quite a bit of carbon and excellent glue jounts. The fus is one piece and the main control surfaces are attached by a long rod. All very well thought out

Sorry only got round to the unwrapping this morning. Decided I would make up the wings with the tip tanks too see how well the rod fixing system for the flap and aileron works and I am pleased to say that the first wing fitted very well.

It is nice to see that all the bags the screws are in are labelled. A nice touch

Here are a few unwrapping pics

So that is about 10 mins max to unwrap and put two wings together. All fitted perfectly with plenty of free travel on the control surfaces

Fuel System.

You get 3 fuel tanks. I have filled each with water to wash them out and also to measure capacity.

The main is 2.75 ltrs and each of the 2 others is 1.25 ltr each. So a total of 5.25 ltrs. Should be enough

You also get some clunk tube, some massive clunks, metal surrounds for the bungs, bungs, brass pipes, T pieces (if you want to go parallel. I will go series however) and even 2 fuel stoppers.

No fuse vent connector however. Small point but would be a nice touch to have a nice one of these.

Air System

This plane comes with:

Air up air down tricycle undercarriage
Full doorgears with air rams prefitted (RTF Version)
4 Speed/dive brakes with air rams prefitted (RTF Version)

In the kit you get 1 big air tank, 2 smaller (but still big) air tanks.
2 No 2 way valves
1 No one way valve
1 Filler valve (curious you only get one but easy to make more from car tyre valves)
Plenty of air line
T connectors and 4 way conndetors
Air line joiners (not needed with the panther as all air stuff remains in the fus)
here are some more pics

The nose gear and all doors and speed brakes are fitted with their rams on the RTF version. The main gear is not fitted but the mounts are predrilled. These are not fitted because it was found that the nipples got damaged in transit if fitted and also a smaller box could be used if not fitted

The nose gear oleo needs turning round 180 degrees

Here is the vertical stab. Rudder fixes on the same as the other control surfaces via a long rod passing through the rudder and screwing in at the top and bottom.

I am pleased with everything I have seen so far
