Props4ever, when you make your landing gear check which length you want. The Main gear has a shorting mechanism that shortens the gear as it comes up. If you make it the extended length it wont go in the wheel well.

I'm not aware of this on Concorde, i know Arrow had shortening feature. I'll look into it. Thanks for heads up.
Wiouldn't ut be matter of placing the gears where it will retract into the fuselage properly on the wing. What i've done here is that i measured the length of strut with wheels and then cross reference that with vertical cross section of the fuselage, well both are about the same lengths plus, minus few inches according to loft drawing i'm working from.

Yes ur right, i just got confirmation from ex-Concorde maintenance engineer that main legs indeed used to shorten for stowage in the undercarriage bays, so this means i have to figure out a length that will not be shortening itself yet will be able to stowage trucks in the undercarriage bays. According to drawings it's 9.5" for the visible strut legs and the 2" for the 1/2 of the wheel's diameter, so total of 11.5" of length. I always like to have more spacing for oleos to travel then needed in case of hard landing/s. How about 1-1/4" of travel space for the oleos with a medium/hard type of a spring in the main struts that will take loads of up to 45lbs of plane...

RE: 1/12th Scale Edf Concorde
I have decided to encapsulate both main landing gear bay with both carbon fibre and fibreglass. Inner sides will be done with carbon and outer sides will be done with fibreglass. I will use 6oz carbon and 2oz fibreglass weave cloths for this purpose, this was all the loads will be transferred through out the middle and aft wing structure. Retracts will be mounted on 1/4" ply plate that will be mounted in the frame structure and then they will be encapsulated with carbon also.

It's great to have another jet scratch builder on board, thanks for nice compliments Carlos.
I'm following your awesome Mirage III build also. Lovely subject and project you took on.

Samedayservice sir!, how do you know account holder "Eric" is actually ergocentric? Does this mean account holder "Samedayservice, Eric and ergocentric" is the same person who is now defending himself!, just making me more suspicious....as i don't see how out of all members Samedayservice knows Ergocentric is "Eric" also and does search on "Eric" and only gets ergocentric and has exactly same style of making posts as ergocentric does....weird isn't it....
Btw i just did member search on "eric" and there is NO Member in aircraft section who only uses "eric" as per these 4 alphabets to make his handle!!!
So who is "Ergocentric, eric and Samedayservice" on this site, to me it's almost certain it's the same person....

Need your suggestion on making lightning holes in the inbord ribs of the inner wings. Outer wing ribs are too thin to
make holes in them. Same suggestion i need for inboard section of the spars. Would.it be.wiseable to do or not worththe effort to make difference...

I already aware of both 8 footer edfs that we can see in market real soon. I'm already in talks with both parties. Would be great to have one of these to use as practice plane for my big one...

I wonder why you have 2 accounts on here when one is enough and according to rules of this site, one person can have one account!.
Listen, i don't appreciate your posts in any of my threads, i have asked not to post on my threads, have reported you, what part of NO do you not understand, i don't want you to make anymore posts on any of my threads, find someone elses threads or start ur own build thread if ur so desprite to make non-sense useless posts, I'm asking you for the last time NOT to make anymore posts from your known 2 accounts "Egrocentric or Samedayservice".....wonder how many more accounts this guy have on here....

RE: 1/12th Scale Edf Concorde
Guys i want to let you know on RCU also that i'm going to make molds of my Concorde and then will make kits, weather they be short kits or full kits i don't know at this time nor the price per kit. My model is going to be the most authentic replication of actual Concorde that could be bought as EDF rc flying model since it's being build from factory loft drawings. I want to make this first model as my prototype, fly it, get all the bugs out first and then make the kits for whoever would want to buy them. Semi scale landing gears will also be option that will be either available from me or directly form who would end up being maker for them. Currently i'm in talks with 3 companies for the landing gear manufacturing.

Both wing's trailing edge spars were made and one was dry fitted on the left wing. Otherside will be done today n 4 new ribs were also made. Couple earlier ones that needed correction and couple new ones.
Fibreglass wing rop n bottom skins will be made leter on today.
Will post pics soon...

Getting back into the gear, both wings trailing edge spars and one of the inner spars have been copulated with 2oz fibreglass cloth and Zpoxy resin. Sandwiched between 2 sheets of glass to cure perfectly flat and straight...

I made my first large fibreglass sheet to make into topside stressed skin panel for these wings....keep ur fingers crossed as this will be the first time i will make 4' x 8' fibreglass sheet. 2 layers of 2oz cloth will be laminated together with Pacer's Z-Poxy laminating resin....

RE: 1/12th Scale Edf Concorde
Well be adding dowel leading edge today, this will include scale straight sections and the famous "Kink" in this process.
All is now looking good on the right wing structure, it will start getting glued together real soon. Wing's top skin panels will be attached as soon as i find out how they are laid on the wing of actual aircraft, it's just this info that is now needed to get skin panels right on the wing twist and droops right..

1/8" dowel leading edge was taped on last night. Top and bottom cap strips will also be added plus full length of LE will get carbon tow reinforcement also before fibreglass panels are made and structure is skinned with them.

RE: 1/12th Scale Edf Concorde
Ive said it once, and ill say it again. Pacers finishing resin is one of the worst possible choices you could use for any kind of structural laminations. Do yourself and the plane a favor and get a real laminating resin for your wing skins. But otherwise, the build looks good. Curious why you are putting carbon tow on the leading edge, when the spars are probably a better choice.

RE: 1/12th Scale Edf Concorde
Ok Thomas, i'll bit the bullet and get better structural laminating resin. I'll use carbon to stiffen up the leading edge as there are few sections that are long enough to flex dowel a bit, just extra reinforcement and protection against dings and dents...
