BVM F-86 Help....Any BVM Reps Out There?
Hi,
Anyone built one of these F-86 AFS kits (the smaller one)? I'm about to start on one, and my customer would like the inner doors. The manual talks about their impracticality (quite humorously, actually), but we'd like to install them. I'm thinking about making liners/stiffeners out of glassed-in balsa a la their F-16 kit. Ideas? I've got a tentative plan, but don't want to unnecessarily reinvent the wheel...
Thanks in advance.

Hi, is it the 60 inch span model. If it is the mains are 3 inch and the nose is 2 5/8 inch. Will you be doing a build thread here. I would love to see it come together. Hope this helps.

Hi,
Yep, it's the 60". Yes, I will do a build here. Looks like it's going to be a fun build. VERY nice kit. The glasswork/layup is very similar to Y/A's current epoxy layups, but the hardware and wood pieces are better. There are a few things on this kit that are clearly done to make it more 'buildable' for today's non-builder builders, but I actually plan to add a little work to make the model look nicer (i.e. redoing the aileron servo plates so that I can make the slot just big enough to accommodate the servo arm instead of the huge pre-cut slot).

Hi,
If anyone has built the F-86 with speed brakes, I'm looking for drawings, photos or diagrams of the setup. Any help would be appreciated, particularly from anyone in the wide network of reps from BVM who've built this model.
