Hopefully I will be able to start it soon and plan on a 180 size turbine.

Been wanting one of these for a while and am not sure on the good or bad, but I will say that from videos I have seen they sure do fly nice. I just received one from Peter at Altercarerc and it is awesome. I am not affiliated with him but he did have the best prices on the kit. It took about 3 months to receive and included the airframe, gear with electronic valves, pipe, clear canopy, 2 seat cockpit, fuel tank and mechanical air brake for a little over $4000 shipped to the states. I'm hoping to start it in the next month or so and will post pics of the progress, in the meantime here are some pics of it now.

Hi
Have you flown yours, if so where is your CG and if you can give me your elevator and flap travel measurements.
Thanks

So the best cg is right in front of the struts when dry the manufacturer’s cg is wrong make sure that there’s lots of throw on the elevators. This is my third super scorpion with lots of flight time with k-170 .

Thanks Sysiek for your reply, your Super Scorpion with twin cockpit looks awesome!! I was planning to get cockpit kit but now looking at yours, i think I will get one.
Can you please let me know exactly how much elevator is required, the manual calls for 50mm up travel and 30mm down travel. 12mm up elevator for straight and level flight. Below is a picot evaluator for straight and level.... 12mm for straight and level flight....seems a lot!

Flaps 25mm down for takeoff with 5mm up elevator and 45mm down with 10mm up elevator. I will also send you a PM. Appreciate your reply.
Regards
Asif

So I’m not using flaps for takeoff just landing,so the jet will go down with flaps if you don’t have the flap-elevators setup, so after the gear pass I’m doing the half flaps until slow and straight to the runway and ready for landing, I have no idea where is your cg but my is right even with the front of the struts by the retracts, I have about 6mm more for the half and extra 6mm for full flaps so a about extra 12 from the straight trimmed straight flying, or if’s you going to use gyro all the will be corrected by gyro , I have some videos flying on the very short field look for pallos rc club 2019 on YouTube or fox valley rc club videos

I have about 20 flights on my super scorpion, it’s an excellent aircraft. The only issue I am facing is my canopy keeps coming off in flight, twice now and lost the canopy yesterday... can’t find it. I am having same issues with the rear hatch but I’ve been lucky to find that. Anyone experienced similar issue?

thanks

Great jet, very cool looking, I enjoyed mine a lot. Most important is to ignore the factory CG. I had mine balanced at the aft edge of the gear struts with the tank empty. It flew great and landed slow. If you have it nose heavy it will be hard to slow and land. I used book settings for flaps and flight mode trims for each flap setting with no problems. Enjoy it!

Little upgrade/fix to the Canopy Fastening and engine hatch.
Apparently this is a common problem with this plane. Also with the Standard Scorpion.

Nice job Sebastian sticking that landing on the 400' runway at Palos. Must have been your caller.
