Hey that guy looks familiar! I had a good time, my first trip there! I think next time I will show up earlier, that illusion on the runway is a challenge. I think I have more fun hanging with the mobile gang and meeting new people.

What illusion on the runway? Is there a problem with the site?

No.

Georgia Jets is one of the best flying sites in the country. There is nothing wrong with it.

No its great site the runway is perfectly level but the terrain around it slopes so it made me feel like i was landing down hill .

A good R/C jet pilot has to overcome all sorts of difficulties including optical illusions, sunspots, and the Bermuda Triangle without knocking out his gear, having metal to metal contact, or flying a traffic pattern larger than that of a full scale B-52.

Jim

Rcjets until u actually see how i fly why dont you stop trying to start something. We all know you dont like me and your gods gift to rc jets and can fly anywhere perfectly every time but grow up. I didnt knock my gear out and i kept my patterns just like everyone else. Why dont you stop trying to start something and trying to turn everything i say into some bid drama event. Im sorry being successful with my first turbine insults you so much, why dont you make a t-shirt about it and mind your own business.

And to the comment above like i said , nothing is wrong with the site, i thought it was a great place to fly and for the illusion, i guess the multiple conversion i heard about the same the same illusion was just my imagination as well.

the first pic crag posted shows what i mentioned due to the slope in the distance the runway appears to have a slope. Like i said i love the site and had a blast! Good old southern hospitality at its best. My comment was in no shape or form a negative comment. It was really fun meeting the GA crew since im from GA myself. I thought i was very nice and respectful to everyone i talked to.

I see, you flew patterns the same size as everyone else. Uh huh, and that's why the cops got called by the neighbors. It was everyone that couldn't keep their jet confined to the airspace above the 250 acre property and started flying over the houses. Just like at Pensacola where everyone had to be told to tighten up and not fly off the airport property and over the houses.

Whew, sure glad you cleared up that one, whoops two, incidents. Now I know what being successful looks like. Oh, I heard from the flyers at your new posting. They are so looking forward to your arrival so you can show them all how it's really done.

Hi Craig, on the 4th picture from the left, was it dusk or dawn?

Thanks,

Yelp your right about Pensacola but once i learned their pattern limits it was not a problem. As for GA jets i flew the same pattern as everyone else and nobody mentioned it being out of the norm. Does not mean i cant fly or im some loose cannon being dangerous or unsafe like your trying to make me out to be. So once again mind your own business and let the people that are at the event make any correction if needed. Amazing simply amazing never seen such ridiculous nonsense between two complete strangers 25 years in the hobby.

Don't understand attacking a guy on his flying when from what I have seen on his videos is not all that bad. But I have not seen his flying in person so I might be totally wrong and he might be one of those people on the flight line you don't fly with. I have seen many pilots at events that cant even switch the direction of the pattern without freaking out and almost crashing. Many I see should not have even been able to get a turbine waiver in the first place.

I had to miss this event last year due to the Republican National Convention. But this year I will be their for sure! Ill try and drag some up from my area also.

Fender is correct, it is dusk. We fly from the south side of the east/west runway facing north, so the sun is never in your face.

That great pic and these others were taken by Jim Little.

This is an awesome venue. Better than any rc field I've ever been to. The only thing better is a real airport and even then, this field hangs in there because there's no traffic to contend with. The actual jet event is as awesome as the field. Great hospitality, great food, outstanding Saturday night banquet. Just an all out great time to be had. The only bad thing is having to wait a year between the end of the event and the start of the following year's event.

Yeah that was a great Saturday night, went back to the hotel will a full belly!!! I am really hating the fact Im moving since now its further to drive to the event this year but I will be there. With some luck I will have the my twins going.
Something unrelated the big city to the north is pretty interesting with all the side golf carts driving around! pretty cool to be legal to drive your cart through the drive thru for some food
