Well this sucks I have 25 gallons of AS 500 mixed with K1 kero... and 5 king tech turbos... granted I also have 4 gallons of KT oil in bottles...

Anyone having issues with AS500 on jetcat turbines?

Todd and Dean both say no problem with AS500 and JetCat. It is the recommended oil.

Craig,

Is this JetCat? If so, bummer. I've been using BP.

My manufacturer says you HAVE to use either Aeroshell 500 or 560 or the warranty is void. Hard for me to believe any of these aviation grade oils are going to cause harm to your turbine.

Does anyone know if the Kingtech oil is good to run in Jet Cats? I have a P70 that's seen BP2380, and I just picked up 2 quarts of AS500 because that's all my FBO had in stock. I just purchased a K80F for my Turbinator and I don't want to lug two types of Jet A around, one for Jet Cat ,the other for King Tech. I guess I could go get a diesel Jug for the KT and run Diesel in it, but I really like one stop shopping for fuel. I buy 100LL for my gassers, and Jet A for my Jets, as they just seem to be better than K1 and auto/mogas.

Ron,

I assume that your picture is showing that using 2 stroke oil is bad. I was under the impression (from the Wren website) that Castrol TT is an approved oil for use in Wrens. Are you suggesting that it shouldn't be?
Well if the Mobil DTE light is not approved by JetCat, someone ought to tell John Redman about it as he's marketing "JetCat Turbine Engine Oil" which from what I've seen posted in various places, is thought to be repackaged Mobil DTE Light saying it's "safe for use in all brands of micro turbine engines" on the front of the bottle. The back of the bottle says "Meet or exceeds all model gas turbine manufactures oil requirements".....

Now maybe it's not Mobil DTE light, but if you look at the description of the stuff on JetCat USA's website, it talks about it not having any nasty stuff;

"Safe for all brands of micro turbine engines Does not contain organophosphates Protects against wear, corrosion, rust, and oxidation Blended with anti static dissipators 20:1 mix ratio; add one quart per five gallons (recommended for JetCat engines)"

So is it Mobil DTE Light or not? Does JetCat Germany still not approve of the Mobil DTE light?

So it sounds that BP 2380 is given a blessing by all?
