Default Airpower Tees leaking

Anybody having trouble with the Airpower aluminum red and blue tees leaking. I ordered a bunch from Todd and everyone that I've installed are leaking. Looks like from under the epoxy or whatever the barb is seated in. Leaks down from 120psi to 80psi in a matter of 45 seconds then holds pretty good. As expensive as these are you'd think they wouldn't leak.

I've used a bunch, and never had an issue. May be a defective batch. Are you sure it's not just the hose and the barb?

Yea what kind of hose are you using? I've heard you don't want to use the softer robart type hose with those Ts

Yep... I use the "DreamWorks" air hose, or the equiv from McMaster. (just depends who I'm ordering from at the time) Also... DO NO heat the hose before putting it on the nipple. It will loose too much tension. And finally... if you you used a knife to get old hose off the barb, and you left a score line... it could leak from that point. (scrape it clean)

Just some random thoughts.

I'm using the hose from Todd. It goes on really tight. When I spray soapy water they leak tiny air bubbles around the main body at the barb. I'm just going back to the plastic tee. These just caught my eye because they look neat.

Hmmmm, that's all I use dreamworks hose and those aluminum Ts on all my jets.. Perhaps a bad batch as was mentioned earlier.
all my stuff holds air for weeks. I'm sure Todd will make it right if you decide to stick with them.

Hi,

I've never, ever had a leak with the little plastic Robart ones unless I've taken an X-acto to it. I've used the metal tees from Y/A without an issue (the best ones IMO), too. The AP ones with the glue on them leak for me so I've stopped using them altogether.

I went back to plastic as well since I've had a number of the metal Tee's leak at the epoxy/body joint.

I always use festo T's. They are expensive but never leak. A whole lot cheaper than repairing a jet after a wheels up landing.

A little spray bottle with soapy water will reveal the leaky culprit .

I sure have. Went back to the tried-and-true plastic Robarts.

set up an account with Clippard, and you will have the best source for all your air and fuel tubing plus fittings. The only thing I haven't found there was manual shut off valves.

Are you still using Dreamworks tubing? I find it very difficult to slide that tubing all the way to the base of the T without bending the T

Wipe a little bit of Thin Lube around the barb of the "T" and the line should slide on without bending the T. Some force will still be needed, but not nearly as much as if the barb was dry.

I use the dry silicon spray. Works really well.

You'll never bend one of these tees:

Even if you use this tubing:
