And, I will bet that it is not backward compatible with any of the 12 channel receivers.

Should work with dmss receivers, but I doubt it will work with DSM DSM2 or DSMX

JR's DMSS is much better than DSM?

Spektrum is now officially behind all of the major radio manufactures and most of the 2nd tier radio manufacturers. What was first now is not...

Yeah, I've spent too much and have too much faith in my DSM stuff to run out and buy one.

It is only compatible with DMSS receivers not spectrum. It transmits differently using both dedicated and frequency hopping so the spectrum receivers do not work with it.
