Default Skymaster Inflatable tires

Hi All,

I've just taken apart my sky master inflatable wheels on my A10 for painting.

Ive just tried to reassemble them and either find that the tire pops off the rim when I approach 40 psi, or won't hold air at all.

Ive ensured the O ring between the rims is positioned correctly.

Ive tried BVM O-ring lube on the ring, but that hasn't helped.

It does seem odd that the hole to let the air into the tire itself is on the opposite side from the split rim with the valve.

Should the tire be glued to metal rim?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

How keep the air in the Skymaster's new Wheels

Caution
There are three size of Skymaster air filled tires (57min-63max mm, 76min-84max mm, 95min-108max mm). They are designed to withstand 140 km/h landing and take-off speed. Never over pressurize tires to exceed their max diameter. As you fill gas in tires, the diameter of them will be enlarged. If the tire pressure is too high, the tire will spin off in high-speed take-off or landing possibly! It is ideally to pressurize tire with a hand-operate air pump and use a caliper to check O.D of tire. Cause the pressure and flow rate of electronic compressor is too high, if an electronic compressor is used, be careful, do not over pressure the tire! Once the air is pumped into tire, the only way to release air out of tire is disassembly wheel rim.
nose wheel / 57mm - 63 mm for all Skymaster's Jets
main wheels / 76mm - 84 mm for Skymaster's F-16 (1/8) & F-18 & F-15 & Hawk
main wheels / 95-108mm for Skymaster's F-16 (1/6) & F-4 & L-39 & Rafal

Thanks Muzzgail, but my problem is getting air into the tire. I need to do that before i think about pressure.
I don't think air is even moving from the valve, through the gap between the split rim and metal ring, into the tire.

Ive attached a photo or the wheel with only one half of the split rim attached, The valve is on one side, the valve into the tire is on the other.

Before you ask…..I cannot simply invert the rims as its a 2/3 and 1/3 split and the valve is exactly in the centre. Therefore the valve into the tire is always on the non valve side.
