Default Classic Jets 4th July #59

This Friday its Classic Jets #59, a Mecca in UK Jet modelling. Sun all day on my long term guesscast, looks like we should be on the N/S runway.
Looks like some new toys to play with too :-)

Another fabulous CJ event, little breezy, at a slight angle to the main runway didn't cause any major issues. I commented that a few years ago a lot of people would not fly, but it was busy all day. Got through just over 20 litres in my models, plus a few more doing test flights.
Big thank you to Dick's team, they work really hard and I know he's proud of the team of people who give up their day to allow us to play.
Traffic home could have ruined a good day if it was not for a route 1 cross country route dragged from the memory banks and instinct!

Great day. Will post the very few pixs I have soon

Yes a brilliant day considering the X wind.

The highlight of the day for me was watching Big Geoff fly my BobCat smoother, faster and better than I have ever managed to in the 9.5 years I have owned it! Geoff you are an extremely modest guy but your flying skills are nothing short of magical!!

Thanks to Dick and his team for making it happen again.

Paul Camilleri at the sticks of this 2.5 metre wingspan Futura sport jet. Personally, I think the smaller version flies a lot better but I would say that cause I am THAT jealous and want the larger version...beautiful precision aerobatic flying Paul

Home design and scratch built. A lot of companies put years of effort into making a jet fly THIS well.

Andy is racking up a few flights on this Hawk and you can see he's already got it dialled in. Great flying Andy. Ready to team up with Steve and Matt Bishop?

Dave I had total faith when following you home, it was like a magical mystery tour. At least we didn't sit in the traffic on the A38.
Good job.

Compilation of all the other odd bits I captured at this event, some of the scenery, and the people that make this great event happen.

Thanks also to Geoff and a few others for helping me fix my steering and get in the air. Cheers - Dom

Definitely a good day despite the wind, arrived home at 2340 after the usual post meet debrief. The highlight for me was the Super Bandit vs Ultra Fish speed duel between Jason Fletcher (Bandit) and Martyn Ball with the Ultra Fish! Both models powered by a Merlin 140, the Super Bandit clearly demonstrating its superior speed.

the tragedy of the event was the damage to the Firebird, such an impressive model which Colin has flown for many years.
