Send a PM to craigdyer, he posts here on occasion.

He has several helis with Wren 44's & lots of experience with them.

He may be able to help. - John.

Jose,

I had a similar problem with my Wren 100 at the beginning of operation three years ago. I started the turbine and took off. During flight it worked fine but I landed it stopped, some times in the final approach before touch down
The problem. A bad pump.
The pump was capable to work at medium to high thrust conditions but at idle the pump doesn't work well and could not keep the idle speed. So, after a few minutes of flight (operation) if I set the throttle stick and idle, the RPM progressively decrease below idle speed and reach the minimum rpm allowed for operation. Then the ECU shut it off.
Pump replaced and no more shut downs in the last 2,5 years....

ola Mucio,

but, the engine on idle before take off, runs absolutely ok, and, if i landing in a short time ( 1 min of flight ), no problem, but 3 or more min of run time, we have an flame out at exactly moment of touch on the floor!!!

Mine also started well and was capable of keeping the idle in the beginning. After a couple of minutes of working the shutdown happened (once at idle)
Does the ECU present any message after shutdown? Mine displayed minimum rpm reached.
Also if you think it is static, try to take and land over any isolation material like those foam pads for kids.
If you want, give a call 12-99119-8067. I have 45 our flying my wren 100.

Message speed low,

Thanks manual says: "SpeedLow: The engine has been shut down because the RPM has dropped below a minimum. Cause could be lack of fuel, air bubbles, problem with the batteries, or defective RPM sensor."

Sure sounds like static to me. I had similar problem with RAM 1000 and used BVMjets.com anti static additive. $12.00USD

José,

Is your help torque tube or belt? In the past pilots noted static accumulation on Trex frames due to belt movement.

Hello guys the helicopter in this case is mine. My problem is not a flame out. Actually we don't know what is.

We changed the pump the problem almost gone aways but still happens. With the previous pump it also happened when giving full thootle in flight and quickly stick down.

I realized that the pump is getting hot, may be too hot for a pump because the proximity with the exhaust:

I believe next step is changing the pump place and if not solved change the RPM sensor to a new one.

bump the min pump voltage by .1 and use static from BV.. see if that helps.. yes don't let the pump get hot.. contact RB or Gary Williams to see how they set up the wren/700..
