Still only managed 30 flights on this model, nice pic taken at our local f/s Glider club recently, flying very nice now.

Good morning all, one question, how do you fix the cockpit to the airframe? Thanks.

It's hinged on one side ala full size, the canopy that is, the cockpit detail is clamped in by the canopy.

Sorry if I did not explain myself well, I meant the cockpit assembly (front and rear seat with instrument panels). I do have the plane but just wondering how you guys fix the cockpit assembly to the fuse, it needs some kind of tabs for attachment and was doing a research about that.

You don't need tabs, the flanges on the cockpits sit on the fuse and are sandwiched by the canopies when they close. You just need to cut bits out here and there to clear the canopy and the latches, if you get stuck I'll take some pics.

So it goes on top of the fuse not under right?

Hello, a Cheetah SP 140 would be enough to fly this plane??

Hi Erwin,
A 160 is the perfect size but a 140 will be fine if you are not taking off grass.
Mine cruises at scale speed with a 160 at half throttle.
Regarding retracts, I've found that the air retracts on both the FB and JL L39's work fine as is.

Hope this helps,

Gary.

Default Nose wheel L-39 FB

Hello Jet Flyers.
I,m rebuilding a L-39 Feibao in Breitling style which had only one flight and landed against the fence at PAMPA.
Try to figure out how the steering servo is connected to the nose wheel ? Anyone a picture ?

Thanks alot ,

PS: I hope to use the AMT pegasus for the Albatros

Arjan, I have sent you a pm.
If you go back through this thread there are pics of the noseleg and wing mod, very important.

You're welcome, good vid, not one of my best flights, restricted where we could fly that day, shocking landing as well, never get it right when there's a camera about lol.

Ahoj,
vsadím se stejně. Chtěl bych trup rozdělit na přepravu. Přilepili jste poloviny trupu nebo jste se právě připojili ke šroubům? Děkuju.

Hi
I'll bet the same. I'd like to split the hull into transport. Have you glued half the fuselage or connected to the screws? Thanks.

Hello, I bolted mine together as I have a large van. Wouldn't recommend gluing permanently, just check the bolts occasionally.

Hi, thanks for the help. A large force acts on the joint. Fairly heavy in the front and front wheel impacts when landing. So I calmed down :-) Otherwise I greet from the Czech Republic. Here in the former Czechoslovak Republic, the Albatros L-39 was born and manufactured. So it's a matter of the heart for me. What about your model? Everything OK.?

You're welcome.
Never ever put the nose wheel down first!
The design of the airframe is very good and strong, the bolt system works well.
I am very aware of Czech, the Russions use the L39 for fast jet training then put the pilots straight into SU27's lol.
I use Czech radio (Jeti) and have a PBS Velka turbine and am a great fan of the L39.
Can't tell you how mine is as we haven't flown anything since last October do to weather and Covid19.
Not sure if you have read all this thread but it is essential to do the wing root modification and get the correct springs from FB Jets.
All the best,
Gary.

Hi,
I read what I could and also the whole thread here. I already have new springs and I have to praise FB. They changed the structure of the wing root, so this problem should be solved as well. I also adjusted the flaps. I also have a larger tank of 6 liters. I have the same L-39 as the jkjunior and I would like to give a more powerful M210TS turbine anyway. I will also start from the grass and we do not have a very long track. I'm sorry, I didn't get it with the front wheel. What should I never do?
