And make sure you use penny washers.

And tighten with care, Don't over torque. I use an electric screw driver with the torque limiter set to 1.5. That suffices.

Actually an easier and cheaper way is just to add a spring washer and tighten the bolt until it flattens.

Global jet Club went under, right? Is there a U.S. dealer for Xcaliber Plus now?

Global Jet Club is still your source for many different jets, here is a link directly to the Xcalibur Plus. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions

Due to the change of gear my used original set is available for any reasonable offer. It is still functional, althought the knee joint has some play in it, but the air cilinders, tires and brakes are all OK. Included 5 nose gear pins, 3 of them complete with the bushing.

I had sent the sizes of the main gas tank of the Xcalibur Plus to Carlos at CM Jets and now I have the main tanks for both Xcalibur jets, you can purchase with our without built in UAT's. All I had for comparison close by was an ACEx 80.

Ralph, since that X-Plus tank is overkill for my P-130, I wonder if they're willing to split it internally (70-30?) for smoke, too. Couldn't find these tanks on their site last week...any idea on price?

No idea on price, but I’m sure he can split it easily, he’s done many split tank in the past.

Out of interest did anyone ever fly the model with a 100 Newton thrust 90mm case turbine? I know there was some debate over this regarding the high velocity of the small case turbines versus the drag of the model.

The smaller one in on the website. The larger one for the Plus, I sent him all the information so that he could make the mold for the. Yes, he does split them up if you want for Kero and Smoke. My timer was already at 12 minutes with the standard tank and this one ended up a little bigger,

Even for my WREN 160 the normal tank is overkill. Unless You are the type who likes to find out where is VNE (Never Exceed Speed) with continuous full power. I lost my Boomerang XL to this phenomenon and that anything way before I'd expected it. It just exploded in mid air.
So with an engine on the high side of recommended thrust, a power dive is just outright foolish with the Xcal+.
4 litres is just more than enough for a bigger engine.
For continuous high speed flight, buy an all composite plane with swept back wings and even that does not guarantee anything, Like getting into an divergent flutter, You wont have the time to even say Sh....

Yes a spilt tank is an option, but flying too often with smoke can be detrimental to Your club. Some members might not appreciate it, as can be neighbors. Many airfields in the EU have a ban on turbine models, smoke can give another reason for others to deliver a protest.

I’m happy to say I have now got my Xcalibur Plus, it will powered by a JetCat 160. I had a mid size with a KT 120 it’s lovely to be over powered on the verticals :-) but I could give the Mid a brief full power burst straight and level before going into the vertical, I presume the Plus with the 160 in will be the same, from peoples experience’s can I give it full power straight and level for a bit before going up smoothly. Most of my flying is going to be half power normal flying but it’s nice to know. And coming into land would you set up the landing flap for lift, or as a pure speed brake on the Plus due to the lower wing loading, again just wondered what people’s experiences have been. thanks Tom.

thanks Tom.

The 160 should be fun. I’ve stated before my P130 will pull vertical on take off once the flap and gear clean up. I run as much flap as possible for landing to give pure drag, probably around 80 deg.

Hi mick, it’s all your fault 😂 there was just a good deal on a 160 though a friend and thought why not 🤷‍♂️ I will try and aim the flap to be as down as I can get it then mate.

Sorry Tom 😂

If you liked the smaller one you will love the Plus!

Mick don’t forget your P-130 is actually more than 150N in cool low England 🙂

True enough Dave.
Great engine, double 130’s in the A10 will be fabulous!

Mick, 130’s in anything will be The ‘norm’ in the U.K. Ultra Flash owners are raving about the set up, it’s a turbine that suits so many airframes!

The bigger the engine You choose, the more residual Idle thrust You have to cope with. The speedbrake did not brake enough to my liking. So I added a mixer to get UP ailerons upon selecting full flaps. It still did not slow down enough so I mixed in some 20mm of rudder toe-out, which makes for a perfect speed brake (with no elevator compensation necessary...) I wrote about it a few pages back in this thread.
Good luck with it. It is a very nice flyer, not vicious at all, I can land it with so much elev, that the tail booms touch first. Had to make some metal skids to protect the tail boom's underside!

Depends on brand. I’ve flown Plus with 160 and 180 JetCat’s from a 120m grass strip and it’s easy. The prototype video is with a JetCat P-180 Rx and calm day...
We had a club member swap his P-100Rx for a Jets Munt 100 and his first landing was in the ploughed field at the end because of the huge idle thrust.
