Default Whoa! Is this a new Rc jet flying field?

Anyone have details about this spot or pictures? Can I fly jets here?

I may be in the area this summer and saw it on the AMA site. I haven't seen it before.

Thanks for any info!

Mike,

Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately, at this time our membership is capped, and our flying site is a private venue. If that changes in the future, we will update the info on the AMA website.

Blue skies,

Erik

I shouldn't even dignify this but, what a stupid thing to say. I have cd'd 8 major jet events in the past 7 years. My wife and I have given significant time and effort to the jet community. Private, as in privately owned, not by me, and the owner isn't interested in a full blown club there, as it's his residence. We are pursuing other long term interests, where we may be able to welcome more people. How many clubs have you founded, or run, or volunteered for? How many events have you cd'd? You sound like a blast to pal around with. Good luck to you.

Some AMA clubs have had membership caps and waiting lists for a long time...long before turbines.

Whats wrong with this? There's your local Muni where you can play for $10 and then there's Augusta. Some guy with some land was nice enough to let some close friends fly at his place and they're some kind of elitists? Maybe take a cue from golf and fly where and what you can afford and have fun instead of looking down your nose at others because you think they're looking down theirs at you....because they're not.

Bob,

Thanks for the kind words. I wish we could invite everyone to come fly with us, but we can't. We are aggressively looking for a venue that will allow a large membership, but we're not there yet.

Blue skies,

Erik

I belong to a "private" club as well. My club is nothing like this! To fly at my club, you have to be invited by a current member. We are not an elite group of people. We are just 18 folks who like to get together and bust balls on each other like noone elses business. And yes, I am one of the founding members of this club.

Some courtesy goes along way in solidifying your group. I don't see an issue with an outsider looking for a place to fly at, when they are passing thru.
