Cool Strictly Scale 1/6 Scale F16 Detail Kit!

I just received my Strictly Scale 1/6 F16 Detail Kit yesterday. For those that know me I go crazy with details and it drives me insane to get a very well done ARF then all the details that give the plane Character are missing or not dont right. Well now we are all in luck. Sean McHale has come up with a great detail kit for 1/6 scale F16s.

After unboxing everything is nicely packaged with very detailed instructions for placement and how to place them. I hope to work on installing it tomorrow. Here are a few pics. I also ordered 2 sets of wheel chocks also in the picture. It was custom painted to match the FW of my F22.

Website for orders and pricing is

That is awesome. Was going to make my own out of SLS, but if someone already has them even better!

You got the small bird slicers, I wonder if they make the large ones too.

I dont think he does yet. But allot of these parts are the same on other jets. Next he is going to be working on 1/7th scale parts for his F18 and soon my F15. I know he is working on scaling the stuff down so will ask him if he can. Hes on Vacation right now.

It will but slightly to big, a IFF antenna (AM/BM) 1:6 has a base of 55 mm and in 1:6.8 scale (PA) it is 48.5 mm. I would go for the super scale .

Sounds like there could be a decent market for these details. I hope he can make them in all the most popular sizes.

A few pics from my phone. It only took about an hour to get it all installed. Makes the aircraft look complete. Very happy with it and fit and finish was perfect.

Thnx Jamie!

Sean made everything real easy. In the instructions it says to put sandpaper over the leading edges to sand for a perfect fit. I did but really found it was not even needed. Everything fit great wight out of the package. Sometimes you get stuff like this and you dont get good documentation of placement and then spend hours looking at pics on line but Sean has great instructions and placement documentation to make it real easy.

Kris,

the f-16 looks great! Both you and Jamie both have a keen eye for the details, and that's really helpful as we keep upgrading these kits.

I have some new parts coming this week (this pic is a hint), and have rec'd some great ideas for future parts from other owners to work on as we proceed to increase the product line.

Also, been getting interest in 1/5 scale parts too.

Thanks for sharing your results, and always welcome to offer any feedback for improvements!

Sean, those will be great for those modeling blocks 25 - 42! They look great on yours!

You know what I would like to see next! It would be a Strictly Scale exclusive!

Hey Gunrad, have you flown yours with all three tanks and missiles? I bought a set of the D4S stuff for my f-16 and wasnt very happy with the overall detail, these look to be much better.

Hey Kieth.
I flew it with everything but the belly tank installed. I used to transport it with the gear up and the belly tank sucks to remove so never installed it. I now transport it with the gear down so installed the belly tank. Kentucky jets will be the next time I fly with it all.

Sean's stuff comes right out the package ready to install with very little prep work. No pinholes and stuff like that that you get from other people in cast parts. He has been going back in forth to a company called Smooth On and dealing with them to get the absolute best supplies to make sure it all comes out good. I cant tell you how many times we have been on the phone and he is trying a new batch of stuff to figure out what works best. He nailed it with this combo.

Who owns this piece of beauty? This was the bird of a friend of mine. Showed him the picture and he was very excited. I spent many hours on that bird myself. I was a bucanero.

I made a model of the same bird a couple of years ago, prior to the anniversary logo.

This is a Bvm f-16 owned by a friend of mine, Danny Morales. He recently asked me to weather and detail the model and ordnance for him. BVM did a nice job taking the markings from a plastic model and scaling them up for painted on markings. No stickers!
I'll see if I can post a few more pics for you (I took that one in my driveway).
