EDF Jim posted his new one on FB and I asked him if they had fixed it but he hasn't responded yet.

Mine has been stuck in customs for 3 weeks now. Hope it heads my way by the end of the week so I can start a build thread. Won't have much time to get her ready for Florida jets.

I did get my tam nozzles along with about everything else I need for it.

I saw that On FB Fender. I actually think I'm going to pass on this one. I have too many big planes & need some easy to transport stuff that fits in my house. I'll probably go with the smaller Xtreme SM ARF f-18F.. it's just hard pulling the trigger on that one after looking at this one..smh

Is there a lighting package for the F-18s like the 16's? Ordnance?
& will there be one on display at Florida Jets?

Yes mine has lights pre installed. The plane comes in 2 boxes and only one has arrived so far so only have the rear fuselage. Will start a build thread when rest arrives.

I just got mine before christmas, it is in building stage right know and I hope it will be ready in a couple of weeks. I must say this is an amazing jet, the detail and quality are outstanding.
I will try to get a nice video on the maiden.

Yeah Fender it's an odd looking tyre. Can someone measure the diameter? I'll check my 1/5 F16 wheel, it could be a close match.

I have a set of 1/6 scale wheels that look like the full scale, I was going to sell them since I didn't need them but going to hang on to them so if they refuse to fix this I can swap them out when I get one. If they would just use the wheels from their F-16 it would be perfect.

Seems completely nonsensical that Likai would go through the extreme effort to actually make a scale deplaining link and then get the diameter of the wheel/tire wrong. Makes more sense that scale wheels don't fit for some reason.

What a pity to go through all of that , finally get a set of struts on a large scale F-18 with the right track/width and then can't fit scale wheels?

Too small of a wheel is a dead give away on a true scale model, hate to see small wheels on a P-47, F-5 etc .

Struts that articulate on retraction (shorten, twist, etc) are hard to duplicate on a model and many times a less than scale diameter wheel is the only solution. I hate it

According to Goodyear the tires on the Hornet are 30in dia main and 22in dia nose.
So in 1/6 scale that's a 5in main and 3.75in or 4in nose wheel I suppose.

Michelin tires, right?

- Main Wheel tires (qty 1 per side) size 30 x 11.5-14.5
- Nose wheel tires (qty 2) size 22 x 6.6-10

Here is a nice link for more details:

I'm sure both brands make them but my search had Goodyear pop up with a table first. Same specs as Michelin so...

I like how they describe the nose wheel as the Auxiliary tire, as if you have a choice? Lol, it's kind of required right?

I saw it.
Main: 30 inch/6=5 inch=127mm
Nose: 22 inch/6=3.7inch=93mm
All just same as our tires size (inflated).

Anton I mentioned before the shape of the tire is the problem its needs to be shaped more like the real tire. Current looks to small for center hub, your main tire diameter is about the same size as the nose wheel tire.

I suffer from being a bit of a perfectionist, and this model is on the buy list.
