This Hawk is 317cm long and wingspan is 253cm .....

This company is fly eagle with a different name, expect no customer service and questionable air frames
We got a new retract set and a new canopy for the smaller Hawk within 10 days. I talked to the owner of the company several times and always got him on the phone on the first attempt.

Yes, still nice and big, but no where near to 1:3 scale...
I think this thread should be renamed in New Skyaviation 1:3.75 Bae Hawk!
Hope to see it live in JetPower.

Every piece of hardware including the retract, cylinder is exactly the same as fly eagle so more than just molds were "apparently bought", Johnny Wang the owner of Fly Eagle almost certainly owns this venture or his heavily involved. This move was predicted years ago as will be the many reps which will start appearing shortly touting the airframes greatness.

Where are these airframes being made, in the FEJ factory in China? Probably.

Hi

Years ago there was a thread about the best ARF jet manufacturer. FEJ went to the trouble to create hundreds of fake accounts to vote in themselves, so if this is true, It wouldn't be a big surprise.

Any way, if it is a new company with a new owner, sure they will care for their customers and will let them know how the planes are built, internal materials, lay out, pictures, etc. Also about customer service policy. Untill then, I'm out.

Nice videos are nice, but not enough, at least for me.

Always good to now about new companies in the hobby, though

If FEJ wants to re-enter the market, that is fine use new materials, fine as well, do some testing, will be a welcome change.

However, what is not fine, is all the previous buyers that have problematic airframes which were given no support, or compensation, or replacement air frames (unless if you were a dealer or rep).

As for Skyavaitions not being fly eagle..... I have had 4 FEJ frames clearly form the pictures;

1) Some type of wood cut out, the servo boxes are exactly the same as FEJ
2) Glue looks/is the same
3) Landing gear wheels, 100% identical to what FEJ uses, same for struts
4) Hardware, only company that uses the blue anodized 3mm pin clamp
5) Carbon horns, also the same.
6) Air cylinders, same shiny metal
7) The wood looks to be the same Chinese hobby wood as well

I can post comparison pics, the same people assembling the FEJ planes are making these, that or whoever bought the molds also bought all the tooling and brought over the assembly staff.

2 months ago I talked to the Europe rep in Germany or Austria and it's not the same FEJ company from what I'm was told the molds have been sold or someone else is producing the models with those molds just new material.

I'm willing to give them a chance if the customer service is good, so far I've been able to reach the Europe rep and talk to them via email and phone.

A US rep would be even better, the good thing is now the Europe site takes PayPal... PayPal does NOT play when it comes to customer dispute.

so

We'll see

Why does it say " Banned " under Alkaline's name on his post where it says "Basic Member", "Trading Member", Etc... On everyone else that post to RCU ?? I have never seen that before... Just wondering what that meant ??

Im glad someone is using new materials on FEJ airframes, however that's just half of their issues.

What is being done about about poor fit of landing gear trunions, soft metal used on struts, pneumatic cylinders with poor tolerance control, excessive wear and tear of landing gear components, poor wing attachment design, thin wood main fuselage formers, weak internal flying surface structure.................?

If the landing gear components are new design, please name source. If the internal structure of the models has been redesigned, please post pictures of internal build up, prior to skinning.

In the mean time, popular answer will remain "F" NO, no matter who is rep'ing you. Several have been bitten before.

I'm with Disco on this one. If you're true intentions are to make FEJ better, please start convincing your potential customers.

Thanks,
David

I think because Disco is once more kicked out. This time for using another identity.

I dare Skyaviation. Open your factory doors, document build up of several models, show us your techniques. Fly the models for a season, test the crap out of them, post the results once you are ready for marketing. Do it right.

First I use to own A Fly Eagle jet Honeycomb and I know there construction this is not my first rodeo i been in this hobby for about 45 years build many planes and start flying jets in 1983 (Byron Mig 15) and own many different brand as today ,and If you don't like a brand you don't buy that one this is why we have choices and will not get involve with something i will get burn with this say let me show some pictures of the construction of the plane. You can see in picture better glue joints and stronger construction

What are you talking about? I see the exact same crappy honeycomb construction, with the addition of carbon laminating. That may strengthen the bulkhead, but it is till unfit to handle fasteners. 45 years experience correct?

BTW, you're not the first rep to stand behind "FEJ Quality" and get burned out. In any case, you are the least known.

"and If you don't like a brand you don't buy that one this is why we have choices" <-----Amen brutha!

Good luck with this business venture..............

IMO, if Sky Aviation did indeed buy the molds and tooling from FEJ, they should be transparent about it given that modelers on this forum in total have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in flawed FEJ products. I'd like for Sky Aviation to state exactly what has improved from a construction and design standpoint from the flawed FEJ planes.

They dont use any more honeycomb any were plus better glue joints. I flew a FEJ Hawk and never have any problem have a friend who have a Hawk also with hundred of flights and still flying but I know was not the best construction this new construction is way better and stronger

Hey Guys come down .... :-)))
I`m one frustrated FEJ Customer, get ripped out over 15k but thats a diffrent Story.

I decided to give Skyaviations a try and now building one of this Hawks.
First impressions are that the overall quality is still good and better than FEJ crap.
In stressed areas they use good plywood, here and there reinforced with some carbon fibre.

The clamps with the fasteners in the herex bulkhead are only to fix the wing. There is no load
on this point, this hawk use a massiv carbon wing tube.

But lets say i cant look into the wings or the elevator ..... will be nice if "someone" can post a pic
of the internal structure ;-)

I put a IQ-220 in mine and guys i will fly the heck out of this Hawk immediately when she is ready.
I will let you know what happend after the first few flights ......

Good luck Eagle! I would really like them to succeed. Just have serious reservations. I'm still flying a FEJ F-35 pre-HC days,

A least no Problem. Skyaviations is a german company and the models are sold under german law.
If there is something wrong i dont have to fight with china, only a 3 hour trip and i can catch the owner :-)
We will record each flight on video. If the Hawk break apart like the FEJ stuff it will be easy to get the
money back. But again ..... the overall quality looks very good, only issue since now are the brass fittings
on the retracts.

The honey comb may be gone but they are using carbon laminated foam for formers and bolting to it. this can compress and fail. just use plywood for that type of former and use carbon laminated foam for regular formers.

Plus FEJ had much more issues like the wing and stab design. the spars were not located in correct positions. has this been addressed as well? many of there jets blew apart in flight over poor design, not just honeycomb.

the airex skin looks much better but much still looks the same.

Yep ... made in China.

I dont know the US rules but here in Germany the company (when located in Germany)
is responsible for their products, no matter where they are produced.

But this can be a endless discussion, lets wait and see if the airframes hold up.
If yes .... fine, if not .... someone here in germany will get a massive problem.
