I did, got them from Wren Uk at the time, Boca Bearing may have them.

I have flown AMT Netherlands engines since 1997 and have never needed a bearing change....or ever heard of anyone needing to do that either.

Unlike some engines... AMT's aren't the easiest to get into. I have a couple under my workbench for parts, because the previous owners tried to get into them.


Generally... the internal, cold-side screws are installed with green thread locker. YOU WILL rip the heads off if you do not use heat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So... use a small pencil torch, and heat each of them carefully to break down the thread locker.

Boca will have the bearings in stock normally... BUT... they are stupid expensive. Buy them from Gaspar and they will be about half the price. (compared to Boca) Not to mention... he will get them shipped, and you will have them faster. That's sad since Boca is in the USA, and Gaspar ships from Spain. FYI... the last bearings I got from Gaspar... I ordered them on a Friday morning... and I had them Monday morning !!!

Here is the deal, I sold my Avonds F-15 without the AT280HP. I was in a rush to pull it out to crate the jet so I goofed and cut the thermocouple (got one coming) and the RPM sensor wire.

HERE is the BIG rub: I took this out of the jet (the beautiful one in my avatar because my family can really use the cash) and it flew before I hung it up in my garage for several years. After the hack removal job, the turbine wheel seems to be hitting something internal The wheel can turn about 180 degrees each way. I just rotated with my fingers no forcing. Wondered if this is how a bearing would fail after sitting up for a very long time? Or if something else internal is going on. I am really bummed about this engine as I really liked it.

Sounds like the turbine wheel is touching the NGV. Could be the bearing has the balls stuck on one side throwing the shaft off center. Blow a little fuel through the motor and see if that loosens it up.

Yep... what he said.

Also... it could be that one of the mounting bolts for the NGV is loose, and it's off center. You can pull the can pretty easy, and you can look at the parts closer without a full disassembly. (FYI, the glow plug holds things together)

Maybe you have a critter (bug or bug nest) inside it.

Mike as far as I recall, you do not need to remove the fitting for the glow plug, just the glow plug itself, to pull the can you need a fixture, which obviously is not availble.
