Default 1/6 F8 Crusader

This is a project I have been working on for many years, The first prototype crash for several issues so that toasted me for some years. I took a break restored a car and now I'm back on the project.
Yesterday Friday 6/2/2017 with some help from some jet modeling buddies I was able to launch this 1/6 F8 Crusader into the sky. When watching the videos remember the rates are not finalized and the roll is really touchy with the wing up.
During the flight the model developed a wicked shimmy but it stayed together until landing. The in-flight vid will show the flutter but also watch the full wing cycle up/down during the flight. What a Day!

Awesome awesome awesome. Wish I could have been there but someone has to keep building the V22 blades!

Maiden flight was yesterday and how much do you want to bet Fly Eagle is already working on a copy of it?! LOL

Surviving that flutter speaks to the quality of your construction technique and materials! Had I not seen the safe landing first I would never have believed that tail would stay together. Congratulation!

Awesome Dave! might the camera have contributed to or even caused the flutter? never really had any desire to have a rudders eye view of flutter before and still dont! Awesome to get her in the air and it looked like everything is very manageable to get sorted.

Hi Pat, I got the model torn down and the rudder started the issue. I made an error on how to connect the control rod to the rudder, also the rod went through a sensitive area where strength comes in very handy. That in turn broke the spar bulkhead.
Thankfully the area is easily repair.
