CARF Mephisto Build thread

My Feedback: (3)
The Mephisto is very responsive, and precise, when I go back to it after flying more “dead” aircraft like a lot of scale jets I have to remind myself to use finer control inputs. Beautiful jet, orange looks good, nice clean build, and we all know how impressive they are! Did you put a cheater hole or ziv bit mod?

Very nice Mephisto like the color scheme, with that 320 you have unlimited vertical, I'm guessing the dry weight around 54-55lbs
I didn't see any smoke tank, your not using one?
You haven't had an issue with those 8955ss, there is a recall by DeeForce on them

The smoke tank is hidden in here... This tank will be replaced when fortitude 1L tanks are back in stock....

Thanks... does anyone know how long the large part of the Fuse is when it is broken down?
Also, it looks like you have to remove the servo linkage from the elevators every time you take them off--is that right?
I would have to break this down each time as I have a small Subaru SUV.

It’s on here somewhere. Around 8’. 2420mm
Yes, we all do that here, quick connect linkages are supplied, one screw removes both tail halves

What do you guys think of the Savöx 2290 and 2292? Where would you use each? Both have aluminum cases and steel gears.

So here's my two cents, 2292 look like good aileron and elevator servos. 2290 with that torque for sure to use on the flaps.
Are you running 7.4 volts, then your good.

The Savox 2290 and 2292 and definitely good servos. The stronger 2290 should be used on flaps & rudder, the quicker 2292 for the rest. You might also look at the Bluebird BLS-H51B Helical Gear Brushless Servos. I have used about 20 of those now in different planes and can highly recommend them. These are a bit cheaper also.

So this mod are those brass sleeve cut to fit in the gourmet. What type of material are those sleeves and your using a 3mm or 4-40 bolt for fastening.
Like that 700 Futaba servo.

The screws are 3mm and the brass sleeves replace the rubber grommets and eyelets. The brass tubing I used is 3mm inner dia and 4 point something outer dia and fits the servos' mounting holes perfectly. The carbon tabs need to be 3mm thick so that they don't bend or break, that way you can clamp the servos tightly.

Thanks, Thomas the sleeve looks like a good fit in the eyelets hole and the carbon servo bracket would be necessary to get a tight fit. I couldn't find any of these brass bushings on any RC website.
So those servos are in the Mephisto jet, looks like Carf quality.

Skunkwrks your local hobby shop should have plenty different sizes of brass tubing. I didn't purchase those bushings, just cut small pieces off a longer piece of tubing with a dremel.
These Futaba A700 servos are the strongest ones the hobby market currently has (1000oz of torque). Got them directly from Hongkong at a very good price. Probably overkill but I couldn't resist to try them out for customers.

Yes a trip to hobby shop for some brass and Ill take a servo to check for fit in the eyelet. I like the hardware especial the locknut with a flared lip for more contact. Nice
I don't believe you can have enough power in servos. So are you a Futaba sponsored pilot as those are newest and best Futaba servos!
Going have to talk with my friend Chad Northeast, he is Futaba sponsored pilot F3 ( pattern) as he doesn't use them in his flying.
