set servos to 6.1 volts. the Kingtech ecu,s also really like that voltage.
next build use only HV servos saves you a lot of issues.!
Enjoy the CTU , if you have ANY question CTU or Jeti related just ask here also.
there are a lot of Jeti guys reading here and have complex builds done.

No I’m running HV servos. I’m used to running straight 7.2 Lipo and I just hadn’t setup this cb400.

then no need for a CB400 a CB220 or CB210 was also a good choice and run it on 8.4 volts.
like i do on all my jets

‘Depends on the airplane.....can’t make a blank statement like this.....he may need 24 servo’s ?? So then a CB400 is right one...anything above 14......

Yes I needed it for the 24 channels. Using 3 channels just for the throttles. Has speed brake, raising canopy, lights and smoke. My plain carf euro uses every slot on a cb200. In the future I might add the cb100 to the cb220 on some of my scale planes to get more channels.

Carsten... I see that there is a new firmware for CTU (ver1.0).. what are the updates?... Also I see an updated LUA script.. is that a simpler version? Loads faster?

thanks

you can use both turbines to run from the CTU no need for throttle channels ;-) (4 servos on 2 CTU)
the CTU has 2 servo outputs for every CTU , ,you can use those so you should have enough.
and we have the SB-ext for low power applications (servo extensions) no need for the big CB unless you need weight ;-)

The change from 0.99 to 1.0 is only an extra status code for Kingtech engines

Just FYI, I updated all 5 of my CTUs today to v1.0 since they are all on Kingtech turbines.

I got stumped at first because after the update the telemetry would not work. ECU and GSU were working perfect, just telemetry to the Jeti TX was inop. Did the update again. Same thing. Went back to v.96 and same thing. Then I finally figured out that I forgot to remember what I learned during the last update. You have to reset from the defaut JetCat settings back to Kingtech. OOPS! I forgot to remember what I learned the last time! Getting old is not for sissys.

Anyway I reset the CTU settings to Kingtech and all worked ok. Only problem was I lost the custom pump factor I had dialed in since it reset to the default number. I'll just fly that one again this weekend and readjust the pump factor again. On the next 4 I made a record of the pump factor numbers in my iPhone so I will not loose them again in future updates.

I believe the only change from v.96 to v1.0 is for Kingtech G4 turbines... so if .96 works for you no need to update.. Same for the updated lua app...

not quite, a few extra things have been changed, multi engine support for core transmitter, better handling of xicoy ecu, better handling of autothrottle etc. The important thing is that in 0.98 the parameters had changed so they would revert to default if going f.ex from 0.96 to 1.00 However it is always recommended to do an "Export" and and "Import" of the settings when going from one version to the next. I always (knock on wood) make it so that this will work regardless of the versions you go to/from.

Carston, how do you do the Export and Import of the settings? What does it do. Is there some instructions for doing this somewhere?
Thanks,
Gary

Gary,
select the CTU in device explorer, you will see a "tool" icon, press the physical button for that. You will then have both import and export possibilities.
The picture below shows this, just for the CRU

CarstEn

Sorry gents, can someone please help me with updating these bad boys? I bought 2 of them but they came with the ctu, a nipple and a male to male JR plug.

I looked through the thread but there were no clear data on updating. Can I use my Mac?

Oh and I wouldn’t mind a diagram on how to link them together for twins! Thanks yalls!

The easy way for CTU is a micro SD card . Transfer the firmware.sfw to the card place the card into the slot and power the system... CRU needs a nano USB throw a programmers software. You can also upgrade CTU with nano USB as well but SD card is better..

Default LUA Load

Hi Guys

Hi Guys

I am installing an IAS/Autothrottle and have an issue with the LUA.

I have tried loading on both my DS-24 and a DS-12 I get the same results. Actually I also can't get the CTU -Twin to work but the single is fine.

Sandor tells me the master lives here any ideas?

That Line ?? N/A?? is the CTUAutoT.lua

Cheers David

David, please PM me and we'll get in touch via email. I did the autothrottle app .. but not the CTU app .. let's see if we can figure this out.

Omg, I’m going to pull my non existent hair out.

I’ve been trying to make these work on my A-10 and am getting the big middle finger.

Once I figure this out, I will start a new thread to help people like me.

I updated everything, I figured out w.t.eff LUA is, installed the ctu LUA program and I’m getting nothing. Ugh...

Help please folks.

And, also of note, I have the new G4 kingtechs and there is no option of G4 in the ECU parameters in device explorer, only G2/G3. Shiza.

I’m guessing you didn’t update the firmware in the ctu?

While I don’t yet have a G4.....Sandor does, so I know G4 is working with the CTU

Look at post #419. You can see the firmware version is 1.0 on both of them.

So, this is what I have done so far.

1. Hook up kingtech G4 ecu to ecu input of CTU

2. Hook up CTU (master) receiver to Ext 1 on my CB 400

3. Hook up CTU (slave 1) receiver to Ext 2 on my CB 400 -> this was NOT obvious and I had to change my cb 400 to ex-bus input on ext 1 and 2. And making 2 CTU's show up on device explore was NOT easy. I had to connect each CTU individually and make the second one "slave 1" with the first one disconnected. Then, 2 separate CTU's showed up
under device explorer.

4. Finally figured out how to update the CTU's from downloading and unzipping "Firmware Lua Full 1.7-2.0 firmware 1.0.zip" THIS IS NOT CLEARLY APPARENT as the file to
download from digitech's website to update firmware and get the LUA files.

When I updated one CTU, the firmware gets deleted from the micro SD card, so you have to remember to do that. THIS IS NOT MENTIONED ANYWHERE except earlier on this
thread by LAjetguy. Thanks to him, I was able to go back and see that the second CTU did not get updated, as the firmware indeed disappeared from the micro SD card.

5. Turned on my DS-24 and I can see telemetry from "CTU" and "CTU1". I'm assuming "CTU1" is the slave. This should not be an assumption, I should clearly see "master" and "slave1".

6. Opened up "CTU Lua Twin" from my applications and see the above error.

7. Go to "displayed telemetry" and pick LUA and I get the big blank screen above.

Please forgive my frustration, but I am frustrated. All these steps were pretty much 1-2 hours to go through each and I get nothing.

The only thing I have not done, is do the "learn RC" for the turbines.

I'll take any help I can get.

Thank you!
