OK folks, here we go!
We (the Kinston Aero-Modelers) are excited to announce the hosting of our first annual JET EVENT........the MIKE SALEEBY MEMORIAL JET FLY!!! This jet fly is in remembrance of one of our club members I'm sure many of you knew very well (and if you didn't but you flew jets, it was just a matter of time!).
Mike Saleeby was a long time personal friend, loved to fellowship with fellow modelers, and he LOOOOOOOVED flying jets!!!! He loved flying rc and the people who did it. He never met a stranger and was very active in our club along with several surrounding events throughout the years. He was always there and willing to help others at his own sacrifice of not being able to fly himself. We were actually getting ready to host our first jet event at our field, but before it happened...... he went on to fly on perfectly smooth runways, calm winds, the sun's never in his eyes, and his brakes always work (not to mention a bottomless can of pringles!!).
Now we're looking forward to continuing what we started.......getting everyone together to do what we love to do.......... burn lots of kero, fellowship, eat lots of food, and make lots of great memories with friends!!
Here's some specifics: For GPS users, 313 Airport Rd, Kinston NC will get you close enough to see the field (we're right across from Lenoir Memorial Hospital). We have a WIDE OPEN FLYING AREA with 800ft x 75ft smooth low cut hybrid Bermuda grass runway. We actually just steamrolled (literally) the entire runway in prep for the event!! $40 registration includes Saturday evening meal at the field with awards (Best Military, Best Sport, Best of Show, Pilots Choice). Several hotels and restaurants are conveniently located close to the field. Camping and RV's are welcome, no hookups. Field has electricity throughout the pits. This is an AMA sanctioned field and event.
We hope you come and join us for a great time and southern hospitality at its best!!
Feel free to post any questions/comments.............Blue skies!!

Robert. . .
You can count on Anita & I to be there. Would not miss the inaugural tribute to Mike. I think every attendee should receive a container of Pringles. . .as a matter of fact, I will supply them! Mikes weakly and sometimes twice daily phone calls left a void in my heart. Not a day goes by when something reminds me of him. We all have our personal stories of times shared with Mike Saleeby. Gone West. . .but never forgotten.
Sent you a PM re; motor home.
Cheers,
Eric, Anita and the Bear

Sooooo glad you guys will be able to attend!!!! Mike really spoke highly of the both of you (when he didn't have his mouth full of Pringles, and even then he would try!) I think you're on to something there with the Pringles, I'M ALL IN!!!! Although we might not be able to hear the turbines from all the crunching!!

He'll never be forgotten......blue skies and tailwinds forever!
Replied to your PM......really looking forward to seeing you guys, come on whenever you want my friend!
