The system I’m going to try, electronically just makes smoke and I’m using the programmable unilight controller for the light.

My A-10 is also getting a sound system. I did it on my small A-10 and it was pretty cool! True, with the engines on, the sound was hard to hear, but I still liked it! Let me see if I can find the video of my A-10.

Also, I installed wingtip vortex smoke generators too!

Smoke-Systems

I had to buy two systems. The wingtip’s come on under a Specific G-load. Very cool system. And if it looks good coming out of the gun, then it’s going to look great!

The main reason I had to make a new gun, is that those smoke systems, apparently, can get pretty hot at the tips, so I thought the stock 3D printed gun would suffer from excess heat. So a new all metal one would dissipate and redistribute the heat better.

Got the Top Gun movie soundtrack and a RedFlag mission audio ...
Which module are you using ? Mine is a Model Sounds Inc. from David Harrison.
I'll try to post a video

Guys, do you know a way to extend the landing gear without connecting it to the main unit ?
I'm not sure but I think I saw one day you can use a servo tester ?

Mine is electric and i can just connect a battery directly to the motor, disconnecting it as soon as it reaches the position. The polarity determines direction.

Yep, same system!

I also have one in my F-86 and I won an award with it at one of our local jet meets! If you zoom in on the pic, you can just see the speakers in the gun ports.

Yes, 2S worked for testing (connect direct to motor).. My controller came setup for 3S for normal use.

Hi Edgar, not to be nosy, but this is what all manufacturers list as not to do.

It seems like it couldn’t hurt as long as you are watching to make sure the mechanism isn’t over stressed. One can see where it would be SUPER easy to burn out a retract motor, but as long as you are watching it and mindful, moving the gear like this seems just fine.

I actually agree with you. It was done as carefully as possible.
The controller do come with the connections to install a manual switch for operation, so i intent to set that up.

Thanks Edgar for the tip.
I will try to hook the LG to the LG box, I don't know in which polarity I should plug the battery as the gear is retracted now.
I'll try to explain my A10 story a little, we are all here to share I guess

I bought my A10 in 2016 directly from Bogo, it's a Gen 5.5 with the eletric brake ... I almost burnt the whole plane by inadvertly plug the brake unit when I was working on the plane. All the cables were burnt ...
I then took my plane to a painter. It was in October 2016. Unfortunately the painter has given up the modelism so he didn't worked on my plane that much. He has only done the 3 base colors on top of the primer applied by Bogo.
I had the same issue as Ravill with the primer, the fiber was not cleaned before priming so the paint is not sticking to the plane that great ... And my painter didn't correct the issue by removing the whole primer and cleaning the plane properly.
After 3 years, I finally got my plane back in October 2020. I thought that the painter would finish it one day but obviously I was wrong so I finally decided to get it back to the workshop and do the job myself.
But after 3 years I forgot all the config I've done
Neither the less, I'm doing the finishing, decals, weathering etc ... all alone and it's fun ! I'm learning a lot in the process and seeing the result getting better each days is awesome.

I'll try to post some pictures but the way is still long to go before finish.

Hi
Mibo A10 and almost all rc composite planes and jets are not finished in primer, but in gelcoat. To properly paint these, usually, you have to take the shine out with 1000 grit sand paper or equivalent. before painting a primer as to be spayed to promote paint adesion, if you are using 1K base coat. Skip this and the paint will come off when masks applied

Regards
Nuno

I wanted to get a sense of how the CG is going to work out so I installed my engines.

This is a really slick way of mounting the engines! They are aligned with the thrust angle.
