After a huge break, here is the continuation of the story about the "Mirce models" F100 Super Saber model.

In the meantime, I finished the models from the previous pictures, the one with one part fuselage was taken over by my friend Aleš from Slovenia.
I finished the model in the primer with all the details on the surface of the plane

Francesco Mondinelli from Italy made fantastic cockpit for this F 100.

Aleš painted Super Sabre and installed the equipment.
So far F 100 has over 40 flights ...

Aleš also did a great job updating the complete landing gears, so the list of Behotec parts on the "Mirce models" F 100 website page is the closest to the scale option.
Also, Aleš did a great job around the setup of the model, and after trimming it, every next customer will have far less stress on the first flights.

Details about model making, photos, prices and much more information can be seen on:
"Mirce models" - F 100 Super Sabre / generation 2 - nsmodelers.rs

Best regards

Mirce

These tanks fit perfectly into the F 100 fuselage.

My friend Ales Gasparic flew his "Mirce models" F 100 Super Saber at an aero rally in Slovenia ...
Pictures speak louder than words.

A couple of pictures of the beautiful Ales F 100 Super Saber.

That model was also made in the "Mirce models" workshop, and Ales finished it and installed the equipment.
There are 89 flights so far.

I have a good exchange of information with Ales and everything new he does on the model sends me pictures and a description.
Last update worked on landing gears where Behotec C50 was replaced with Electron ER 50 with 150 kg of force !!!!

Behotec legs can be mounted on the Electron with an 8 mm pin without any problems.
The holes on the aluminum tubes are the same in mm, so replacement is extremely easy.

Great MG setup with the gear fixed to the fuse and not in the wings. Been CAD'ing up a 2 seater for a potential build and was going the same route.

Hello Mirce or any other F-100 builder out there .

I have started building my F-100 again now that the flying season is over and now I have some questions.

How do I fixate the wing half’s to the fuselage? There ought to be a screw somewhere? I cant find any reference to that in any building pictures. How have you solved that one?

Where is a good place to install the fuel tanks? I would love some pictures of gear instalations.

Jannica

Jannica, first few photos how to fix wings on the fuselage:

You need two for every wing...

CM Jets made fuel tanks: https://www.nsmodelers.rs/nsmodelers...ale/fuel-tanks

Round tanks comes on holes and square between intake air channels.

Gear installation: https://www.nsmodelers.rs/nsmodelers.../landing-gears

Last update is Electron ER50n gears instead Behotec C50. Legs, wheels and other parts are still from Behotec.

Hope this will help.

I've got my 1/4.8 kit + 3d parts + wing tanks and pylons + servo trays and cover + everything else which came out to $1394 at the current exchange rate. Mirce Models communication has been fantastic as I have already asked a lot of questions! This is obviously a mulit-year project that is a marathon, not a race! In thirty years of modeling I don't think I've ever been this excited about a particular kit!

I'm thinking about sheeting the wings and tail feathers with G10 .010 Fliteskin. I'm going to order some sheets and see how it lays down, it should work very well in this application. I'd even like to try it on the fuse, but I think the transitions between balsa and G10 has too many drawbacks to warrant it.

Mirce, great work and thank you for providing these kits!

I also love the F-104 but it's just too big for my transportation!

Cheers,

Greg
