Im trying to NOT buy another SM after my F-18 issues I had, kinda did me in but that being said never say never. I wouldnt expect anything from them in this arena, hoping a few others bring one to the market

If they come out with a two seater, I would be on it like white on rice! I really respect what they are doing these days. Nice model here though, im just looking for the A6 version in a 1/4to1/5 scale range!

Default What a great airplane

Congrats Dave on the new project, keep posting pics please.

The EA-6B is high on my list, i was also in touch with DerJets. Right after i finish my SM F-14. Love those twin engines jets.

I know this is an old post, but do you have an email address for Eric Clapp? Or new info on whom to contact about purchasing one of the EA-6B's? VAQ209 was my first squadron. Best patch I ever earned! Star Warriors with Darth Vader in the middle!

Thank you for your time,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

It's not so old. There is one EA-6B under construction, see posts from last month. I was also in contact with DerJets, probably i'll order one as well sometime next year.

Email is: Taiwan DerJet <[email protected]>

Good luck.

Keith,

You are in luck. Our 1:5.5 Intruder molds should be ready by December. At that point we are going to finish engineering the spoilers, gear, and cockpit. I currently have a vacuum formed cockpit tub and seats but will replace the ejection seats with MB-7's.
They and the instrument panel will be printed then an RTV mold created for those as well as the tail-hook and surface details like the EA's ECM pod and other features found on the EA, F, and KA. All four airframes are the same with exception of ECM, hardpoint stores and refueling features.

I am currently creating the mains and nose gear struts. Will print the majority of the non-structural details. The 6's mains are perfectly vertical with a rotation just as they enter the fuselage. I'm visiting this thread in hope of finding someone who's EA6B met terra-firma in a non-conventional manner... The DerJET Prowler is a 1:6.5 with a 90+ w;/s. Our 1:5.5 is 120". The EA typically weighs 41#~43#. Our 6's will weigh another 4~5#. I hope to find that gear to scan and enlarge to 1:5.5. Doing that will forego having to reengineer what already exists. Years ago while Bob Kress was still V.P. of Grumman's fighter works I requested and received a plot on 3" centers for the entire A6F.

Our 6 originated as an A6E from the "Flight Of The Intruder". We have the last movie model damaged in a Houston hurricane and one pulled from the original mold. It is being improved with greater scale accuracy. Those in the movie were used in flying sequence explosions.

Flight was along the California coast and desert. Ours was launched without gear for coastal filming in look down angles along the coastal ridge line. The original gear was over $3k and weighed 14#. Obviously ours will not.
Given we are successful with the first four we will probably do an EA6B...Below is the front clip for the B. Very little else is different from the others.

If anyone with the DerJet Prowler gear is willing to let us examine...it would be well cared for.

So is the plan to release a kit 1:5.5 of the intruder?
looks like Mibo stalled out.
