Default J.M.A. Flying Only Scale Jet Competition - Buckminster Lodge

The JMA had received requests from members for a flying only scale jet aerobatic event, with the emphasis being for a low key judged competition with minimal documentation.David Tappin (I.J.M.C. Judge) kindly set up the criteria for the event, and ably assisted by I.J.M.C. Reps Bill Grimsley, and Bert Hazeborg judged the competition on the day. The event was held at the BMFA National flying site at Buckminster Lodge, and to say we have had a long dry summer the grass on the strip is still in very good condition, and a credit to the volunteers who look after the facilities. The weather on the day was wall to wall sunshine, the event started promptly at 10:00hrs.All the entrants agreed they had a great day, and learned a lot from the event. After three rounds of flights the winner was Mick Burrell with his Mibo A10.
Runners up Steve Roberts – Der Jet Grumman Cougar

And Paul Baker – CARF Hawk.
Javad Aghababazadeh – F- 16.

I will post a few photographs of the event

A number of sports jets were flown on the day notable Paul Bakers very nicely finished CARF Viper Jet with Jetcat 160 RXI B for power, flies as good as it looks.

Steve Roberts flew is CARF Ultra Flash in the attractive Swiss Scheme, ample power from the Jetcat turbine

Javad flew his Graupner Inspiration, this design has been around for a while, however it still flies well.
