We flew the Micro today and it flew really well. Radio (an IX20) needs some programming and touch ups, KingTech 45 G3 was flawless except we almost emptied the UAT and the airframe flew really well according to my son, Nick, who had the honors for the maiden. He said it flies just like an Ultra Flash, only smaller. Overall, seems like a really great plane. Thanks Dirk for getting us up and running.

Not a whole lot of action in this thread given the recent love of micro jets in general. Are these things out there flying or still pretty slowly rolling off the assembly line? Is there available stock or a crazy long wait time? Thinking about a new home for a K45G2 and I can’t do foam.

A friend just ordered one from PRCJ. They have a few schemes that are factory ready to ship.

We love ours. Perfect size for keeping it together in one piece in the car. Kingtech 45G3 or the Xicoy X45 are ideal for it. I still haven’t flown it but my son says it’s easy to fly. I’m a little intimidated by the small size and my eyes. I do fly a BVM Bobcat well so shouldn’t be much different though.

Hi All, Considering one if these and have a question ..... Is the preferred mounting location for a 45 (X45 or K45) the tail .... or at the conventional location with a pipe ? I'm thinking that the tail location frees up more room in the fuse for perhaps a bigger fuel tank ?

Thanks. Bob

I haven't yet build one of these, but my choice would in the tail....same size fuel tank....no pipe would be lighter, and I would try to go as light as possible....

We mounted ours conventionally. In the tail makes access very difficult although I’m sure it’s possible

Default Micro T1

I have a Micro T1 that is just about finished. I have a Kolibri 45 in it. The Kolibri 45 makes 10lbs of thrust and weighs about an ounce more than the Kingtech K-30
I mounted it in the tail. It's easy to remove it for maintenance. I did have to add about a pound of batteries to the nose to get it to balance. It weighs about 10.4 lbs. dry with the batteries.
If I would have used the tailpipe it would be about 6 oz. lighter but I would lose some thrust from the pipe.

There is room for a larger tank if you want it.

Is hard to find info on this plane, with a 45 size turbine is need to limit output power? Is strong so can do full throttle dives?

You can find some videos on the net but not mention the engine used

Thanks

Bob, generally speaking, jets like this one and the very similar Sebart Mini Avanti do not benefit from a rear mounted turbine because of the relatively long tail. A modern light weight pipe can increase thrust if designed properly, plus mounting the turbine in the tail would not be easy. In the end, it's all about moment arms and working out the best solution.

Hi everyone! Just purchased the T-1 micro and began assembling this outstanding jet! Can anyone share how they installed the retracts and landing wires in the wing? It doesn't seem to have very much room for the wiring once the retracts are installed. specifically, the routing of the brakes retracts wires...

Thanks

Yes, decided to go old school and just cut a slot in the side of the wall and fish the wires through the wing, for some strange reason RCUniv. won't allow me to post any pics!

Yes, it will be good if we can get some feedback on the flying experiences using a 45 Size turbine.

Thanks,

Can anyone give some CG data? Did you use the stock 165mm? mine is coming out super tail heavy on the current with mid mount and pipe. I have seen 173mm in a few places so im wondering, thanks!

Has anyone tried a Kingtech k55 in this model?
Or your thoughts on a setup like this.

We have one that has several flights on it and reported much earlier in the above thread. It flights much like a Havu with a Tamjets upgraded engine onboard. It also slows down very well. Our computer gear boxes were all in reverse order with the braking and nose gear steering going opposite directions I’m dealing with some serious health issues but will try and get my son to report. I think the CG, rates and directions are all straightened out now
