F22 pics by Andrew Griffithpics from FLjets. Notice the rudders on knife edge!

Unfortunately this was after a bolt backed out on the gear and caused me to have a gear up landing that took the inboard main doors off. The factory will be using loctite on the production planes since you can’t get into this bolt with the gear installed so it needs to be done before hand.

So, can we expect shipping to take sometime in August? Gives me a bit more time to complete other projects and get the old credit ready to pay the balance due.

Outstanding!!! The JL F-22 is almost re-engined (P-180NX) and ready to hone my skillset this summer, in advance of the T-One’s arrival...

Got notification May 31, that the internals were being installed in my F-22. Looking forward to receiving pictures of the painted plane.
Decided to go with a single engine installation. Is anyone planning to install a K-320?

pretty sure that would be to much and it’s not needed. Also don’t think it will fit because of the lower bomb bay doors

Hi Gunradd,
I'm sourcing equipments for my F22 coming soon and have a question please.

How many electrovalves do you need
-for the gear ?
-for the gear doors ?

Concerning the fuel fitting (bulkhead insert, clunk..), is it included in the kit ?

Thank you.

Fuel tank fitting I'm almost positive is included but I like to plumb mine differently so I had to order another vent. I never use T fittings I'm my fuel setups so in the forward main fuel tank I used 2 vent fittings that the saddle tanks feed into. I also used to vent lines from the saddle tanks with separate vents no T fittings. That is just how I do things and I guess might be over kill but I don't take chances on the fuel system.

For the gear...…

It depends on what you use. Dirk sells a gear controller and valves that will do the gear/doors/brakes/canopy all in one unit including the valves. This system was not completed when I got mine yet so I had to use the gear/doors and brakes valve with separate canopy/canopylock/bomb doors open/close.

If you are doing all seprate valves it would be
gear open/ close
gear doors open/close
brakes single action
bomb doors open/close
canopy open/close
canopy lock open/close

I would highly recommend getting the valve Dirk sells to clean up the install and have failsafe built in. I do think you are one valve short though with the big one Dirk sells so you would need one extra valve I believe.

Here is the air system I would use. You would need to call Dirk to get the price I'm not sure. Also keep in mind your still one 2 way valve short.

I have it and it works great. Only problem I have with it is the pressure out line gets to hot if it runs to long and gets soft. I need to source a better line for the hot air. But it works good as is I just don't let it charge up all 3 air tanks from empty.

Im expecting mine to be done in the earl fall, doing twins 166Ts on it like that F-18. I got a feeling its going to show up about the time I start my new job which will put things on the back burner for a bit. Will be a great winter project!

Considered using a teflon tube to interconnect with the pump and then a Festo quick connector back onto the regular festo air line? That will eliminate the hot nipple heat conduction issue.

This airplane has an amazing presence in the air. Can't explain it any other way. If you keep the speed down, it's really hard to distinguish it from the real one..
