Dave,

I think there may be a misunderstanding. The 'HELICOPTER' image I am referring to is not a photo of the heli I was trying to program. It is the grey phantom like image that comes up when you scroll down on the top LHS above the list of models that are programmed on the CORE already.

To put it differently; if I no want to program another model, then I can only scroll through the PLANE, CAR, BOAT and MULTIROTOR images, the HELICOPTER is gone.

How can I get it back?

There is a fairly detailed description, 2 pages, of the I Servo and its telemetry integration with the Core (and presumably Atom) in the latest RCJI. Some performance figures are included.
Excellent servo.

What is the main difference with futaba?
Have the 16sz now and considering buying the core.
Is it really easier to program?
Always find programming a jet difficult.

WAY easier. Once you do your first model you will wonder why every radio on the market isn't as easy.

I can pretty much figure out anything electronic and when someone approaches me for help with a Futaba radio I simply cringe because it takes me forever and there's no reason. Maybe if I learned it once and for all but their setup just doesn't make sense to me personally.

thanks .
Always talk about futaba pranks.
Some things just don't make sense.
Very glad I'm not the only one

Futaba is also easy once you become familiar with it, I own both and would not personally use that as a basis for the decision. The core seems more current with the times to me, you can see this in how you setup telemetry, in the Futaba it was always kludgy. You're able to update your TX and RX via wifi with the core, no need to pull the sdcard. You have an onboard sequencer too. You could get away with minimal sequencing on the 18mz, but it was so limited, again, very kludgy. The biggest benefit for me is the integration within the PB ecosystem. You can now discover and configure your gyro in the radio, you can view how their servos are operating via a sensor too. That is all light years ahead of my last Futaba TX, an 18mz. All that said, I have not kept track whether Futaba has developed their code any further since I moved to core. In any case, there are many other redeeming qualities than easy to setup. I do agree with Cuda, instead you will wonder why you did not switch sooner.

One final point, there are a lot of cortex owners out there that may not buy into the PB gyro lineup. What I've noticed is that they have typically remained with Futaba or Jeti.

The Atom is way ahead of Futaba, same easy programming as the Core, just a few less channels and features. Did a change over for a Spektrum iX20 owner yesterday, easiest swap ever as both jets had Powerbox Mercury units. 40 mins each model.

So the atom is good enough too?
It saves about 900 euros.
Perfect 40 minutes.
Of course you know him well.

Yea, there's a few differences that are well documented throughout the thread and Martin Pickering did a video detailing them.

18 channels rather than Core’s 26 (still more user able channels than a Futaba 18MZ) Less Flight Modes (still plenty) and 2 rather than 4 Receivers can be bound to Tx (Two is same as most radios)
Atom is enough for most sports flyers.

Thank you for this explanation.
I have become much wiser again.
I also listened to Martin but my English is limited.

also 2048 resolution versus core's 4096 but most flagship radios now are 2048.

Despite some misinformation floating around the Atom DOES have wifi enabled onboard and also does the push updates for the receivers from the radio just like the Core.

The only thing is to get used to the red color.
Too bad they don't offer more choices here just like the core.
Of course you don't buy it for the looks.
Thanks for all the responses.

Will never buy something I don't like so it will become the core.
Even though it is much more expensive.
What is the opinion on holding the transmitter?
It will be a lot heavier than a futaba and other material.
Can people quickly get used to it?

It feels substantial, not plastic but I wouldn't term it heavy

There will be a PowerBox weekend in Bruges, Belgium, on March 10 and 11. Richard Deutsch and Manuel Kamitz with Timen Deprinz will host the forum. It will cover details of both Core and Atom transmitters.

Just like you from the cold little country.
Know that there is someone in Nijverdal for the rest no one where I have seen it.
There is also someone in Ede.
Then I regret that I went from the 14 tg to the 16 sz. In itself an improvement in terms of setting, but the screen is difficult to see in the sun. Think the jeti would be a much better choice. But now the power box is the future I think. Double power supply etc with jets just extra security.
