Any new fighter is going to eventually get dressed as a T-Bird. If for no other reason than how it looks. Doesn't mean they're going to them.

I too remember the F-4 and consider it the most impressive even today. Nothing rattles your teeth like an F-4 in full AB.

The 16 will eventually be dropped from inventory and something will have to replace it. How about a drone?

Yeah and other than the fact that some of them are VTOL for the Marines, they cannot hold a candle to the F-22's. The Japanese want to buy some F-22's with the updated F-35 avionics which would make them the deadliest thing flying. They are getting excuses from our government, mostly the folks who pushed the F-35 to be built in their political district, saying they cannot put the F-35 avionics in the F-22 without major airframe redesign..... I call BS.
