Austin Texas JET LAG jet rally March 22-23
Hello everyone, I wanted to share the information for the 2019 ARCA JET LAG event. Its a great event hosted by a great group of guys who work really hard to make sure everyone has a good safe time. They heard some of the requests last year and changed it a 2 day event. They just spent a large amount of money making runway improvements, it was great last year, these improvements just make it even better. I would like to take a minute to let everyone know about this event and encourage you to come out and support ARCA. It is always a great event, and they always have a large public turnout who love to watch jets. I Hope to see ya there,,,, Here is their flyer with the info
the event CD is John Eshbaugh

Around 650', it rises from the north so as you land in a typical south wind, the runway rises to meet the landing. been a few years since i have been there so i am not sure about the physical condition these days. Basically it was set up as a smaller version of waco, with the concrete taxiways and a few shade structures.

Here is runway info from the club's website.
ARCA enjoys a 550'x45 foot paved runway. We also have a parallel grass runway that is very usable for most of the year.
Our runway orientation is 340/160 degrees.

The runway is 550' long and given the recent construction, has actually gotten a little bit wider. Both from the construction but also it is more "usable" because the right side (South end) had large cracks and weeds growing though them. So that edged needed to be "avoided."
The "usable width" now is closer to 50 or maybe even 55' but that has NOT been measured.
We would LOVE to have some of the Jet pilots from the past come again this year!

An update on Jet Lag 2019 Jet Rally at ARCA.
We are all set! The field looks great, some last minute work is being done Wednesday to "soften" the transition from the paved runway to either side and off the ends.
There is a SOLID chance we will do a BBQ on Friday night depending on how many folks we have that are interested.
Great pilot prizes and an awesome raffle. We hope to see whoever can make it!
