The size is ok and you cant argue the performance, I'm just bored with these weird dolphin looking sport jets they don't really look like jets anymore.

The funny thing is the Dolphin jet is the least fishy looking one of the group or should I say school . Obviously the shape is what gives it the nice aerobatic performance but I have to agree that they just don't have a sleek jet look.

Nice! some years ago I borrowed that fast hotspot you know to a friend for a flight. My friend loved it, but forgot that there was a tree at the side of the field, and he got " behind" the plane.

To avoid that tree he pulled up too hard, to the point the landing gear legs showed thenselves for a split second. I was amazed that the plane didnt ripped the wings off... LOL He never flew that plane again.

The guesstimation of that pullup based on speed and turn radious was at least 20G.(!)

I didn't mean the dolphin specifically. I meant dolphin as in the fish that these new jets are all looking similar to.

I know what you meant. I didn't explain it clearly. I meant that the only plane actually named after an ocean mammal is the least looking like one compared to the slew of them that have come out in the last few years with the bulbous type canopies that have been dubbed fish jets.

What is it that makes flying that fast so exciting?

They have....it's called the Natrix. Similar flying characteristics to the fish jets. Popular in Europe but has not caught on so much in the U.S.

Max speed via GPS is not the most accurate. I would like to see the data file to see if it is an anomalous spike in position error. The G reading is cool though.

Exactly what I was thinking. I would like to see the log file just to confirm. If so a big congrats to him.

They remind me of modern F3A planes. The aerodynamics outweigh the aesthetics and you get used to them after a short time.
Interestingly enough, most sport jets look like a CompARF Flash to me.

I don’t see 350mph in a billion years with that design...

Yes, but to go 10mph faster you need less drag or a lot more power...a lot.

Show me that speed taken with a proper Pitot and airspeed sensor, then I will believe it
Never trust a GPS, especially not for speed or height
A (higly optimized) CARF Ultra Flash with 27 Kg does 540 km/h (airspeed) when really pushed.

GPS always look cool for demo,s Carsten.
i once broke 800 Kmh with a GPS diving , this was borrowed from a guy who claimed he went 650 kmh.
soon after i did my testrun with 800 kmh , it was said by the same guy that it might not be correct.
when we mounted the Pitot all went silent.. ;-) nothing more was said that day hahaha

It looks fast to me!

GPS is a fun little gizmo. And with jeti, it’s so cool to have all that data. It adds another dimension to the hobby. Enjoy!

I see he is using the mgps for speed. As much as I like my jeti radio the mgps is the most inaccurate gps I have ever used in a plane. I am hoping the Powerbox GPS II is better...

This brings up another question. I also see his max speed and max G rating is posted in the bottom of those respective telemetry screens. How do you get the max rates to show like that?

if you use double screen it will let you see the max reached.
